The only one that does actually. Always the mid who puts himself behind the contest. He's clearly injured, and is dare I say a liability in our midfield right now, can't run both ways

I dont blame Pendles one bit. When you know your better than you are yet handicapped at every turn you might as well give up.
Please contact Bucks and let him know you don't appreciate his negativity about his captain's comment. Why is everyone looking for anyone to jump on... Even if it is our captain?
Listen to the bloody interview, he was talking about himself individually and the fact that never in his career has finals been out of the question. I found it quite interesting.
In no way did he say he didn't care about the result or if we lose.
Think I may have to come on BigFooty a little less the ridiculous negativity is killing my soul.
Has he spoken outside of the press conference? Because all I heard there was the same out of context quote in this thread was given to him and because he hadn't heard the interview he sidestepped the Pendles part and went on to address what the mindset of the player should be going into the final 2 rounds. Please contact Bucks and let him know you don't appreciate his negativity about his captain's comment.
I can see where he's coming from, it's the first time in his entire career where we haven't been in finals contention, so in that respect it actually is the first time he has played in a game with nothing riding on the result. He is as deflated as the rest of us and was clearly in a very raw place when doing the interview.

Why would the players care who is in the finals if they're not?
Not over here to gloat as you have had times that we are only promising to have.
Agree with above. When Frawley said we get to shape the finals as intended inspiration it was so sapping.
Pendles was probably reminding supporters that you have been spared dead rubbers in the past decade and its new to him to experience the loss of motivation in comparison to being well and truly in the mix.
Beware those that do get motivated by dead rubbers. Blokes you need to delist but save themselves with big performances in nothing games.
Beware of duds rising over the next two weeks. They just prevent you from making decisions now that you will make in two years time when they have NO value.
Speaking from experience:-(

He was probably trying to soften the blow of this loss to the Collingwood fans and it backfired because of his choice of words leaving what he said open to negative interpretation.
We know Pendlebury's character, and know that he wouldn't give no effort because a game was "meaningless". He probably meant that the game was meaningless in hindsight so that fans don't get angry as much, as they were unlikely to make finals anyway and can't finish lower than 12th.
Don't think you guys have much to worry about with his comments
No the media aren't saying too much at all, its the nuffies on here that are making it out to be a first world issuewhat did pendles say that was that bad are the media trying to make a mole hill into a mountain
Nice try but you should be embarrassed for creating this awful thread. Can't believe a thread was made in reaction to a snippet of a full sentence taken so out of context that it can only be described as low. The thread is lower than shark turd. The reactions on here vary as fans all have different emotional responses to losses, players, team performance and situations like this.
But the one thing we all have in common is hope.
"Mathematically" we could still make finals and the supporters who spend their hard earned cash to watch our boys play wanted to see the passion and desire to keep that hope alive.
It was poorly worded, Bucks wasn't thrilled with the comment either but when you're the Captain of the club you need to deliver a message to the fans and the message was muddled.
He sent a tweet out later acknowledging the fans as he realises what was said wasn't a great look and kudos to him for that.
I want our boys to play like Port last night, put it all on the line for Jumper regardless of ladder position.
Go Pies.
