We had about half an hour (out of curriculum) on preferential voting, and a bit on how the evil Aboriginals who slaughtered innocent settlers were rightfully executed.We had a year long civics style subject where we were taught history, mostly white, how the Parliament worked, a bit of legal studies, a bit of political history, it was a good curriculum.
Combine Robin Gray's Tasmania with an Empire loving principal, throw in some 1950s textbooks to go with the 1850s ideology, and that's what you got. To be fair, a couple of the maths teachers were good.
