We are about 300 points off the Saints %. Given % only matters when team are on the same amount of wins, i can't see us making up 300 points in 8 weeks of footy by having better winning margins than the Saints.

It helps massively if you have a positive percentage. I always look at it of a 2:1 win giving 200 percentage.
A good thing about all those early low scoring games is if we put in a couple of beltings to the lower teams, we'll cop a big % kick.

I think we'll try and shut them down as best we can, but I expect us to win by 50+ points. 50-100+ would be a nice score for us.

Might not have to catch the Saints either, Geelong have a horror run coming up and could easily slip to 8th or lower and leave us needing a lot lower percentage to play finals. Can we get to 110% or better? probably not but 4% wasn't a bad start

I don't think we need to catch up with the Saints on percentage. It will be North and Richmond that we'll be competing with for 8th spot. Anything up near 105 - 110% might be handy.

I expect a game similar to the GC game last year. Close for a half, supporters get frustrated as all shit and pull away in the 2nd for a 10 goal win.
Heh, I can see this happening, 45 pt win at the absolute most. Close game till half time. Not unlike GC last year, even though we won by 10 goals - it should have been more. Such is the Freo way.

I highly, highly doubt we will smash GWS. We might get out to a huge lead, only to let them kick 4 goals and reduce the margin. Or it'll be close by half time and then we'll start to get a move on in the second half. We haven't been the team to belt other teams for a long time now.
I do remember the smashing of WCE in 2010 by like 80ish points though...that was great. More of that please!

The bombers are on 10 wins.Both the cats and bombers remaining games are disturbing, as you mentioned essendon might only finish with another 3 wins.As Ross mentioned last night, if we play finals we deserve to be there, our destiny is in our hands....

To be honest we are that far behind on % that it's not even really worth thinking about unfortunately.
I disagree somewhat. With games still to go against GWS, Port and Melbourne twice, I can't see why we can't get up near the 110% or more. That would be competitive with 2-3 other contenders for 8th spot, and an easier task than having to win at least 14 games.

Oh it's a possibility but it's just that I wouldn't be banking on it too much as we are a long way behind most of the other teams fighting for 8th, and we are certainly not known for putting sides away in recent seasons.

I agree with this. Gee, Car, Rich, Nth are 113, 109, 108 and 105 respectively. If we win the next 3 games by the same margin as we did against the Bulldogs (assuming the same average score against us) we will be on 103%...
