Hello and welcome to the 2013-14 Pero Cameron Super League. Congrats to Billy again for taking home last years title!

Can we begin with all managers confirming their participation for this year? At this stage we have sadly lost Raff and Bugsy, but have some worthy replacements in Badga and Tony.

Gridlock'd - Confirmed
Billy - Confirmed
Badga - Confirmed
Tony Richo - Confirmed
Dutchy - Confirmed
Nice guy adam - Confirmed
Moo -Confirmed
Gus Poyet - Confirmed
Hamster - Confirmed
tigerfan - Confirmed
sirjames - Confirmed
D2C - Confirmed

We will need to decide what keeper format we are going with, if any, before we begin the draft. So I have posted a poll. Please respond ASAP. I have thought of a few options, if you can think of anything better, please post it.

League Rules:

- Each team will have an extra bench position on their roster, which they can utilise when they suffer a long term injury. The injury will need to keep the player out for at least 5 games. Once the player has missed 5 games in a row, the player is eligible to be placed on the injured list and replaced by another player. Each manager will have to notify the league when they are going to utilise their extra bench position. When the player returns from injury, the manager will have to notify the league who they are dropping to get the injured player back on their roster.

- Scoring is head-to-head, as per last year.

- There will be a maximum of 50ish allowable moves for the season, depending on what Yahoo allow.

- You can trade in the trade period, throughout the draft period, as well as the regular season, though there will be late season deadline as always. Trades can be for players and picks. However trades have to be equal for the trade and draft period, otherwise teams rosters will be short. For example you cannot trade LeBron James for Pick 2 and 25, however you could do LeBron James and Pick 150 for Pick 2 and 25.

- Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
- Stat Cats: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL BLK, TO

Keeper rules:

1. A players value is the round they were originally drafted at (so all players taken in round 1 have a value of 1)

2. Value does not effect trades in season ...it only comes into play once you choose to retain a player on your list for the next season.

3. When a team chooses to keep a player they must of course pay a price - this price is the previous season draft round + 1 spot up (A player taken round 10 will cost you your round 9 pick)

4. The only exception to this rule is if you do not have a higher pick - you are allowed to pay the same price (ie if I keep my round 3 pick from last season but I have traded for a round 3 pick last season that I want to keep also......I give up my round 2 choice and my round 3 choice)

5. First round draft picks can obviously only cost you a first round draft pick

6. A players value is not lost when delisted ...I delist LeBron ...he carries his value forward as a round 1 selection

7. The following season - value is based on the previous seasons value not the original season

8. If a player is not drafted at all by any team in a season but is then picked up on the WW once the draft is officially complete - his value is 13

9. If I want to keep 3 previously undrafted WW choices the following seasons it will cost me pick 13, 12 and 11

10. Keeper system going forward:

2013-14: New Draft
2014-15: 5 Keepers
2015-16: 3 Keepers
2016-17: New Draft

Basically it is not complicated -

- Each player has a value (expressed as the round taken)

- Each season every player retained looks for a increase (value + up 1 round)

- Sometimes you get lucky and if you cant increase (as the round spot is already filled) ....you can pay the same value as last season (ie the round you chose the player)

- You can not offer a player less

5 keepers, no restrictions. What's the point of having a keeper league if we can't keep the players we draft and have them year after year? 3 keepers with restrictions seems ridiculous to me.

Each to their own.

To me it means to win you have to nail multiple drafts.

Fair enough. If we can come up with a system that rewards late drafting of talent and keeps regular turnover of players then I'll be happy with a smaller number of keepers. If you drafted Greg Monroe with a tenth rounder or something you should be rewarded and be able to keep him for at least three seasons.

To be honest mate - I really don't mind.

3, 4 or 5 works ...I like the round restriction though.

In.

I propose a 3 year rotational keeper set up.

Year 1: New Draft
Year 2: 5 Keepers
Year 3: 3 Keepers
Year 4: New Draft

I was thinking similiar to Gus, 5 year rotational draft but with 4 keepers per year but no restrictions.

I think it's important that a decision is also made on the life of each new re-draft/league.

Perhaps even flip around the 5 and 3 keeper positions. 3 keepers in year 2, 5 keepers in year 3.

That way the last year before the New Draft people are keeping max amount of players from New Draft and Year 2.

Definitely keen to be part of this league.
Any chance to beat Billy in another league sounds good to me!!!

In terms of keepers & redrafting, I'm happy to go with the flow.
You guys have the experience of playing this league, so I'm happy with whatever decisions you make.....

Have just sent a PM to the remaining managers asking them to confirm their participation.

Gus' keeper suggestion does seem like the leading candidate at this stage:

Year 1: New Draft
Year 2: 5 Keepers
Year 3: 3 Keepers
Year 4: New Draft

Any major objections to this?
