I have just made and last minute decision and bought a ticket to the Doggies v Eagles game.

I am now trying to get a flight. Jetstar have a flight that gets in to Perth at 4.35pm. Will it be possible to get to Subiaco by 5.30pm

I will have no luggage, so can be in a cab by say 4.45pm

Sheesh mate, you will probably arrive sometime during the 1st quarter...

Save yourself the angst and fly over on Friday night.

Great that you're going!

That not what the Perth guys are telling me on the main board.

They think I'll make it in time.

Should be ok, its not that far, 30 minutes tops on a nice day.

Only concern to me would be if the plane arrives late, often happens if there is a big head wind!

PS it is TEEMING rain in Perth as we speak.

Forecast for Saturday = rain

every jetstar flight i've been on has been late,
plus you've got to get out of the airport,

nothing worse than turning up to the footy late,

Especially after spending all that money.

I looked at that flight and thought that's OK, because the game is 7:30pm. Then remembered that's 5:30 Perth time.

The Taxi rank at Perth Airport Stinks.

You may be better off boking a hire car for say $40-50 bucks. (Taxi to Subi is approx $25.00)

It can take about 30-45 mins at times to get a cab if there is more than one flight arriving. Also the traffic around the ground can be bad. Allow as much time as you can. Also is is not uncommon for Melb - Perth flights to run slow due to headwinds.

Hope you enjoy the game though.

Go Dogs!!!!

This clearly isn't going work.

The only solution is to be a man, celebrate 9/11 by smuggling on a compact shute in your hand luggage, taking over the flight as it approaches Perth, divert it over the ground and bail out.

Ring Hughes limos and organize a sedan to be waiting for you at 4.45 cost is about $66 which is worth it if you have to fight for a taxi

Is the Perth CBD in between the airport and Subiaco? My flight arrives at 2.00pm, but I've got a bit of stuff I have to drop off at the hotel beforehand.

There's often a pretty long line for cabs in Perth, as flights seem to arrive their around the same time. I've waited for a cab for about 40 minutes when arriving there close to midnight, and this has happened more than once.

It would take you approximately 20-25 minutes to get to Subi anyway, so you'd be cutting it pretty fine if you jumped in a cab straight away.

The airport is on one side of Perth and Subi is on the other. Shouldn't have a problem if your flight arrives at 2pm though.

Excellent suggestion this would work well for you . That time of day there will not be much traffic untill you get close to the ground and then you can walk a short distance left. Providing your flight is on time you will make it if you book a limo with Hughes. Enjoy your visit.:thumbsu:

Mate I live in perth and ill tell you, the taxi's in perth are shizen.

Order yourself a private pickup or you just wont make it. Subi is a shocking ground to get in and out of too, so if i caught a taxi id be tempted to get off a block or two away in hay street and just run to the ground.
