Perth glory- robbed

Brisbane scored all the goals :o

Seriously though, Perth don't have a lot to whinge about, all things considered.

Brisbane dominated possession, shots on goal, and also had the numerical advantage.

Not the point.

The point is that there should not have been a penalty awarded and the game to go into extra time. Sure, we were less likely to win than Brisbane given those above factors but this is a very harsh way to lose.

I don't give a shit about a teams game plan and structure possession shots on goal etc counts for nothing if your not getting the job done

Fact is Perth were denied 30 mins of football due to incompetence

Perth were never going to win after Berisha equalised ...

They are unlucky but Roar are worthy back to back champions ...

Frankly there has been a massive overreaction, Roar were by far better over the whole 90 minutes, had Perth won it would have been a Bradbury championship ...

Celtic Pride here to troll..

Trolling aside, a penalty for a air swing is no overreaction. Perth controlled much of the game. A-League went backwards with what went down today.

I was at the game, and can I just say

Perth were robbed, right in front of me!!!

The crowd went up like I hadn't seen before. I've been to a couple of A-League games and was fortunate enough to get along to a few games in South Africa 2010 but I have never seen a crowd erupt like they did for the equalizer and then the penalty decision.

Straight away I said to my Queenslander mate, 'Come on, that was crap!', and he seemed oblivious to how bad a dive it was. They are a truly parochial lot up here.

We couldn't really hear over the PA but in the post-match interviews/awards/whatever, did that French fella say something along the lines of 'There was no contact but that's football'? That's what it sounded like to me.

I was a neutral tonight and had no vested interest either way but I can honestly say that was the worst refereeing I can recall seeing in a soccer match either live or on television. I called it at the time that the penalty was worse than the one given against Neill in Germany 2006, but there were numerous other bad calls too (at least to my eyes up in the stands). Boy was he quick to card the keeper for time-wasting.

Bad day for soccer in this country in my opinion.

My main issue isn't the result, roar were the better team its just the matter in which it was attained. This incident will become the ammo soccer haters will use against the fledgling league. It hurts the league and won't exactly win it any new fans.

This is true afl journos will use this to bury the soccer and FFA frawleys already bought up on on fox! Wait till a robbo or Cunningham gets hold of it!

Oh puh-lease, these kind of dodgy ref penalties happen all the time around the world, esp at Old Trafford. No serious football fan will give up on the A League after today's GF, get a bloody grip.

Your just a bitter Glory-supporting loser.. How does those sour grapes taste sook ?? :D

And they wre down to ten without schmeltz on the ground. The result was inevitable.

And stop with the crap blaming the ffa. It was a decision made by the ref in a split second. Twat.

It's not the serious fans the A-League is worried about - it's the casual fan that will be turned off by what happened today. The league is struggling as it is already...

For a supposed ardent football fan you sure know little about how these things work.

A Brisbane win was likely but certainly not inevitable.

This isn't bay 13 so you wont get a bite from me Celtic. In fact, you are a fairly insignificant troll. Even your peanut mates on that board thing you are a bit silly.

Air ball swings are non penalties. Doesn't matter which way you try to paint it Celtic, it was a non penalty.

By all means enjoy your tainted GF victory. You know deep down it's ref gifted.

Any views on the stupidity of Heffernan?

He was defending well and two stupid acts saw him end up with red. 11vs10 was telling in the final forays forward.. He could have been the man who made a difference in the box, he was in good form... But instead, he got himself sent. Massive moment in the match, and yet not one Glory fan has admitted that it played a huge part in their loss.

It was a moment in the match to be sure, we still had a sub to use as well but it played no part at all in the result.
You have to be in denial to try to defend what went down. It's all high fives and love for Berisha, right. Queenslander sportsmanship on display right there. Embrace the taint.

I would have thought the free game winning goal at the end of the game was more significant ....

But what do I know

You clearly don't know comprehension... I never said that the penalty was less significant.

I'm just baffled why one of the things that Perth had some 'say' in, has been completely ignored.

Heffernan stays on, the ball doesn't get to the box, no penalty to give. That's how I saw it. If it got to the box, he looked solid all night and probably would have helped see off the danger.

Instead, he gave it up with his own stupidity, and no-one is giving him a bake for his selfish stupidity. Of course the ref is the easy target, understandable, but for it to get to the stage where the ref had to make that decision, Heffernan played a huge part.
