I agree with you, but the second yellow was soft in my opinion.

All very valid. My hypothetical had Heffernan staying on (if he had any discipline), 1-1 at Full Time and anything happening. The ref made the big howler. Heffernan's departure simply gave the entire scenario the opportunity to arise.
Butterfly effect... If he didn't get sent off, anything else could have happened. After he got sent off, the controversy arose... What is factually incorrect there?

Q: What would have happened if the penalty wasnt given
A: We would have gone to extra time
THAT IS ALL YOU CAN CATEGORICALLY SAY IS TRUE (100% factual)

This is far to simple for people to accept.....
Homer we could what if for ever and change the history of the universe
Usually have a lot of respect for Homer Jnr but can't understand the attitude or arrogance in this thread. It was a very poor referees decision, and I don't know how it could be argued otherwise.
Basically when it comes to admin and umpiring in sport, soccer = boxing. AFL is only a bees dik above when you look at the favourable run the Eagles have had in 2012 with umpiring. Big money and big betting controls sport worldwide.
Berishas dishonesty is the cause here nothing else
How many times do you need to be told this does not excuse berishas actions
Hoss, I've never said the ref was right. I've been critical of his work in the box.
The only 'arrogance' was when a certain poster said I wasn't dealing in fact, and I dealt the fact of the result. I then followed up in saying that the facts that surrounded the result were based on a woeful penalty.
Hard to accept that as an attitude issue or arrogance.
Calling Heffernan to account for his discipline may rub some people the wrong way. If I supported the Glory, I'd be seething if a player got 2 yellows for stupid challenges. Let alone at that stage of the GF.
I think that sums it up really, but as Homer Jnr said a lot of others would do the same thing in the same circumstances.
Well dishonesty and referee incompetence.
Doesn't mean it's ok
Homer was asked how he felt in 06 re grosso don't believe he responded?
