Agree that Perth > Northbridge.

Also agree that its pretty easy to stay out of trouble in Northbridge, but shit do you see a lot of fights and shit walking around at 3am

I guess I'm a girl so feel quite uncomfortable seeing plenty of fights in Northbridge. Also everywhere you walk in Northbridge has police everywhere - it just creates this danger vibe for me. Don't get me wrong its good that they're there for safety and protection, but it just shows that they're there and ready to break up a fight etc. I will only go to Northbridge to go to the Moon Cafe or for someone's birthday. Perth CBD is always my first choice.

Hot girls, Laugh at Alpha Males with Rats Tails and tacky cars, whats not to like?

Guys here Like
1-Shit haircuts,
2-They like to think they are a hotshot fighter
3-Horrible Tattoo's
4-Bicep Curls
5-Excessive drinking

6- Going to Bali every month and getting a southern cross tattoo

I feel safest in northbridge. Subi is the most dangerous place imo.

Agreed. Especially the way the clubs run with pretty much not letting you in unless your with girls. (was with a group of mates in subi one night and waiting in line at red sea for close to 2 hours before ****ing off to NB). So all the guys wait a long time before going in a club, get pissed off, look for trouble.

I have found Northbridge fine. Ive seen the occasional fight but if you know what your doing and your not a total ******** you can aviod trouble.

Yes I am female.

oh

i just found it weird how you guessed you were female, obviously don't know not a lot about being female, so maybe you or pacey could clear this up, but i thought you'd know quite easily whether you were or not

I'm tired so that entire paragraph was badly written. I meant "I guess I feel uncomfortable in Northbridge probably because I'm a girl".

Not very many clubs have this policy..

So you would probably suggest that I don't attend this so called social night gathering organisation?

Perth's actually quite decent, you just have to know where to go, appropriate to what day. Whats 10 times more annoying, are the people who complain about it.

Well i have noticed that the clubs in Subi do this almost to the extreme.

I actually went to Gold bar on Weds and was with 4 girls and we walked straight in and didnt even have to line up. i looked at the line, there were proabably about 20 people there... all guys. Walk in the club, filled with girls:thumbsu:

The goldbar and the red sea are owned by the same people. They're the only clubs -in subi- which do the whole, females to the front of the line thing.

Not unless you like seeing your sister being a total **** and hooking up with every guy she sees.

Agree with the Northbridge thing. It's all a media beat up, if you aren't acting like a w***er, you'll get left alone.

Joondalup is easily the dodgiest area. Shit gets real there every weekend.

Admittedly haven't been to joondalup, wasn't aware people went there for clubbing

Red sea and Gold bar are a disgrace with their lining up and VIP bullshit. Best thing about the place is the blonde girl at the bar.

Yeah, it's mostly people in their late 20s onward. The amount of stabbings and assaults that happen there is ridiculous.

Having the police station virtually across the road doesn't deter any of it either.

There are plenty of small bars getting licences now, so Perth is at least attempting to move towards a Melbourne style of vibe. Also, the licensing of cafes allows people to now go and enjoy a glass of wine with friends without going to a restaurant.

There is a long way to go, but there are some decent places around. The Ellington jazz club for instance is a great venue. Agree The Moon Cafe is a nice place. Mrss Browns in North Fremantle is a one of these small bars and they have just opened a court yard which suits Perth's climate.

I hate Subiaco with a passion. Full of w***ers. Northbridge is dodgy. Joondalup is the place that is full of lads. Idiotic Poms that wander around trying to outgeezer one another. Fremantle is less then attractive after midnight too. But, I reckon Perth has improved.

The bands where indie bands play are always good wherever you go because people are there to listen to bands so I generally don't see a whole lot of trouble. ie, The Rosemount, Mojos, The Bakery....

I thought the general rule was you don't go to Joondalup unless you're buying weed?

My problem with Northbridge is not so much the safety concerns (they've been sensationalised of late) but the quality of venues. They are all very average. While there are plenty of ********s around, I felt more concerned for my safety during one weekend in Sydney than I've ever felt in NB.

Perth sounds awesome, booking my trip now

Ha ha.

The only way is to come over and see for yourself. As somebody that has travelled to Melbourne at least once a year for many years now, I rate Melbourne as the best city in Australia and a fantastic place. I have seen my fair share of undesirable characters there too though.

I also live a really good life here in Perth. When I here about a new bar that is a bit different, I make an effort to get out and give it a go. There are a lot of negative people that live here and come on these forums to diss the place. It makes me wonder why they are still here frankly.
