FreoDocker, when you get to rotto, do they ask you to prove you have accomodation coz me and my mates were just thinking of going with no accomation for a few days?

And also, are you allowed to take alcohol to the island or do you have to buy it there?

In 2000 when we were in year 12 they let us take over blocks, last year I just bought stuff over there, but I don't think they let people take stuff across (a mate who wasn't 18 got a few blocks taken away).
As for accomodation, we didn't get asked at all when we got off the ferry, we got told to expect it, but they never asked us.
I had a few mates that just went over and slept on the beach.
So I donno if they'd ask you, but if they did you'd just crap on about staying somewhere and I really doubt they'd double check it.
One thing about both years, they do take away funnels!!

It's pretty expensive hey!!
If you can you should try and take stuff across if you can. It just depends if you wanna risk it I guess. If you over age I don't think it should matter.
