Am glad a few people are finally speaking up about the playing surface not being up to Scratch - it looks like crap and is obviously too hard.

Having concerts 2 weeks out from the start of each AFL season doesn’t help either…

The full strength beers at Optus is definitely a welcome addition, will have to get down to a game this year.

Is it still Single Fin that's the primary beer there? I swear I heard someone say they do Swan Draught now too.

I suppose that's the downside to full strength beers after years of mid strengths.

The full strength beers at Optus is definitely a welcome addition, will have to get down to a game this year.

Is it still Single Fin that's the primary beer there? I swear I heard someone say they do Swan Draught now too.

I think it was also that it was a Saturday in the middle of a long weekend plus being Anzac Day it was a big occasion and lots got there early and hence started drinking early.
I didn't really notice many drunk people around me but I did notice by half time a lot of the food vendors were out or running low of options.
I couldn't even get a pie at the bar near me, completely sold out by half time.

I suspect it's a case of people drinking beforehand, especially on a long weekend. Are many people stumping up hundreds of dollars to get drunk on beer out of cardboard cups? I like the flavour of a full strength beer, but I'm with you, I'm there for the footy, it's two or three to nurse through the whole game, at best.
