I don't mind the stadium itself, its just its location will force public transport and the only bars or food anywhere close is all at Crown Casino
nah, looking at 80,00050,000?
It's COR-TENLooks really ugly from the outside. Those wooden looking panels all around, wtf are they thinking?![]()
REALLY?!?!? Well then...that is silly$821 million!
That's just silly.
Gold Coast stadium was torn down and put back up for $144 million.
The theatre-goers that push the crowds up to capacity want to :
- 1. Finish work at 5:00pm on a Friday
- 2. Go to the nearest bar with a group of mates
- 3. Down a quick 4-5 pints and chat up some skirt
- 4. Stroll down to the ground
- 5. Watch game
When game finishes - repeat steps 2 and 3 above.
Th last upgrade at the MCG in 2006 was over $500 million for less than half the stadium so $821 is not bad$821 million!
That's just silly.

Friday games start at 6:40pm...Not really doable in Perth when the AFL insists on starting games at 5.40.
Apparently the stadium itself will have 70+ food and drink outlets and Subiaco Oval pretty much forced public transport too.
I'm ambivalent about the site but it's using up land that is pretty much vacant anyway.

So what happens to Subi?
The only recent big infrastructure project in Perth that has been on time and not over budget is the Mandurah train line. Expect this one to be a couple of years behind schedule and $100 million over budget.
it will be knocked down they just don't want to say it right away.Complete waste of time, should be knocked down and developed into residential and commercial. Prime real estate that outside the two AFL teams WA doesn't really need for footy.
