I will bet you anything that Port Power pick up Berbakov in one of the 2 drafts,Mark Williams coached him over here at Glenelg before Berbs got drafted to Essendon and then Williams went to Essendon as well and coached him alot in the reserves and has a big opinion of him, plus port need more defenders. Well at least he will come back and play for the mighty tigers in the sanfl if port pick him up

Talking of trades, it seems Adelaide and Brisbane are keen on Martin Pike's services next year.

And Matty Primus is the leading candidate to take over the captains role for Port Adelaide.

Wouldn't surprise me if Collingwood picked him up.

He's knee is buggered and he won't play till 2002 the earliest.

Seems an easy way for the Pies to waste another draft pick on a washed up hack.

would it not be great if the Kangaroos picked up Eastaugh... Easty would have to change his name... or the club he supports... decision time waits...

Now that would test his small brain...

Drakey

Yeah...I heard that two un-named interstate clubs were after Pike. We figured that one of them was Brisbane and the other one would've been out of the Adelaide clubs.

He's a very good player...goes in hard, doesn't shirk the hard stuff, has good delivery skills, and reads the play well. The only thing is his mental attitude....in 1999, he gave up drinking, did everything Pagan told him to do, and became such an important player in our backline that most of us shat ourselves when he did his hammy late in '99...we rated him that highly.

In 2000, he played in patches, but it seems that he started to enjoy drinking again. So, maybe after a premiership, he just doesn't have the hunger anymore.

He'll be great for you if he plays next season with the attitude to proving North and Pagan wrong. But if he's just playing for the money, then he'll be a wasted draft pick.

I figure that North delisted him for one of two reasons. 1. He didn't have the hunger to win another premiership...in that case, I don't think Adelaide will gain anything from drafting him because the right attitude from the player isn't there. 2. Pagan is setting an example to other players....a cheap sacrifice for North....so Ayres can get Pike to focus on his game, then he'll do well for you.

In the end....I think he's worth the risk of a third round draft pick.
