Biggest thrill in my life. Peter Daicos and Fatui Ataata came to my primary school to a do a football clinic thing. We did some training out on the oval with them and me and one other kid got selected to play for Collingwood in the BigM little league. I got best on ground in the BigM little league against Kangaroos at VFL park. Peter Daicos gave me a pat on the head after the game. Haven't washed my hair since.

My Mother was a nurse and a mad Collingwood supporter. One of her patients paid for a members box in the Sherrin Stand for a season as a thankyou. We loved it and all but nothing compared to standing in the E section of the Rush Stand. Everybody had their own spot that they stood in every week, and everybody knew everybody. I grew up as a kid in the Rush Stand, but ended up down the Yarra Falls end years later.

Even from the first training it was apparent what kind of marvel Daics was going to be. The old guard hanging around the club were thoroughly impressed with what they were seeing, & my then-teenage father made sure to watch even more training runs (probably why he failed year 12...).

Whilst more publicised due to the nature of footy media these days, I feel as if we've had a similar kind of story with Nick. Unbelievable junior talent who has wowed at every step, made it to the AFL, and has only really continued to keep wowing us. We are very lucky - not to mention Josh!

Now we just need Daics to make some, uh, donations, and flags ad infinitum are ours.

You know how great he was but a little visual reminder every now and then doesn't hurt. That goal when he ran around Nankervis and pushed the ball out in front of himself before gathering it again and drilling the goal was in the 81 preliminary final (20 minute mark of the last term). It's Daicos's personal favourite of all his goals. I was there and will never forget the noise. Goosebumps.
 
6 goals in the 3rd quarter at Arden St was pretty special.

The Magic man.
Never lost his feet and the best kick of a ball (on both sides) I've seen. Yes Buckley people, Daics had Bucks covered easily. Only Bernie Quinlan caressed the ball as beautifully as Daics.

Had the ability to change his game as required (by team needs, age or injury) to whatever was required and still DOMINATE.

One of the last proponents of the HIP to put opposing defenders out of marking contests. Hudson and Ablett Snr could do it but so too could Daics. And his hip shimmy left so many opponents grasping at thin air.

Josh's physique is closer to his dads' than Nick is, but Nick kicks those stingingly hard flat drop punts. They look caressed but they go so straight, the timing is superb. You'd hate to be a Sherrin with the Daicos boys around.

Neither son has ventured a memorable torp yet to my knowledge.
