Peter Dutton - How Long?

A glorious and point perfect analogy of the man Dutton would like to see back in Parliament....

"He is lizard-faced and weary, desolately sorting Peroni bottles into a recycling bin. He has a sock tan above boat shoes and is wearing floral board shorts. The sense of failure is absolute."

Hastie would be an interesting call but Taylor, that would be superb! He has more skeletons in the cupboard than in the Footscray General Cemetery.
Hastie would be like Dutton minus the sparkling personality.

hastie sees himself with the baton. but presently he's a babe in the woods politically. taylor does have some charisma but carries a lot of baggage, was up scummos arse, and is a dumb as f**k.

Much as I agree Tony Abbott is a waste of space, and much as I'm aligned with the politics of The Saturday Paper, FMD some of their editorials get pompous.

Dr. Jim said on Sky this morning (about Dutton) "..... He’s looking for more division. He’s reached for the Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison playbook, which says that the best chances for him to be successful politically is if the nation fails to grab this terrific opportunity do the right thing and to move forward together in that spirit of unity and respect." Dutton said later on Sky that he didn't understand Chalmers' personal attacks upon him. I wonder if he'll walk out of parliament if and when a Voice to Parliament is heard in parliament, just as he did during the apology?

How in f***'s name can this disgusting pig be taken seriously when it come to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander issues? How come the media doesn't always introduce articles where Dutton speaks on the Voice by saying, "Peter Dutton, the man who walked out when the Apology was being read in Parliament said today ...."? At the very least, why don't the protectors of freedom of speech ask Mr. Dutton to freely explain why he walked out on the Apology?

Taylor is one who fooled me for a while because he scrubs up ok in a suit & mostly looks the part of a businessman but damn he’s stupid.

There seems to be a special class of people who make it in politics & particularly modern conservative parties. They’re like partially developed characters in a sim that have certain attributes set to maximum but nothing of any other skills.

It’s hard to believe someone with the ability to steal so much money in plain sight without any consequences can be so utterly incapable of stringing together coherent sentences or generally articulating anything beyond resources industry propaganda.

Guys like him seem to have lost track of the concept of government directed towards forward thinking and the common good.

They’re more or less gangsters working a mob that is on the side of the law that gets to make the rules.

Howard saying what Dutton and other Liberals are really thinking behind closed doors:

Question for those in Alice Springs or who know people in Alice Springs- Is the current crime wave (let's say last 6 months since Labor was elected) substantially worse than it was previously? Or is it just the Liberals fearmongering to distract from the voice? I know crime has always been bad in Alice, but how bad lately is up for debate.

its been alluded to here and elsewhere ..... but lurch is hoping the alice springs issue gets caught up in the broader argument around the voice - and that a % of disengaged voters naively (and falsely) link the two

its shameless, disgusting and toxic politics at its core ...... and, worryingly, it works on some

hopefully enough australians are clued on to see this for what it is

Yes Dutton has said conciliatory things eg it’s been happening for a while. And perhaps we need bilateral approach. But you can bet those parts don’t get reported widely

It's lovely that there is enough faux concern for the well being of Northern Territorians against the evil blakfellas, whilst wife bashers and sovereign citizens can continue to live their lives enjoying what they do.

There is more outrage on aboriginals committing petty crime than there is for people setting their spouse and kids on fire, and ambushing and killing police officers. Absolutely ridiculous.

ABC interview with Alice Springs Community Leader in Alice Springs recently who personally experienced victimisation through crime there.
