"
The opposition leader said his refusal to support the National Apology was a response to violence facing Indigenous women and children in Indigenous communities.
"At the time, I believed that the apology should be given when the problems were resolved and the problems are not resolved," he said.
He admitted that all governments — including his own had failed to deliver when it came to First Nations peoples and addressing disadvantages.
"The advancement of Aboriginal people in our country, education, health outcomes, Closing The Gap, all the rest of it — we have all failed."
"

He wanted to wait until all the problems were fixed.

His party's fix was to send in the army.

What do people make of this repetitive, childish tactic where every question by a Liberal to Labor in QT finishes with
"Why is the cost of living, etc. always higher under Labor". * it annoys me.

It’s the big lie tactics. Repeat something often enough it becomes true.
Been going on forever in one form or another. The Nazis made it most famous until it became SOP for Trump.
Since the libs basically copied their playbook from Trump it’s hardly surprising.
Really though Murdoch has been helping them do it here since Howard - interest rates will always be lower under the libs.
It’s effective. How many people just repeat the utter nonsense that the liberals are better economic managers or spend less despite this being obviously untrue.

I think they might have gone to this well one too many times. It was all good for Abbott to run this line when Howard was his predecessor, and Murdoch titles enjoyed high circulation which reinforced the narrative. Every time Dutton gets up to have a moan people are reminded of the Morrison government of which he was a very senior member and the influence of what Musk likes to call legacy media has very much diminished since Tone sledgehammered his into way to government. They might need a plan B.

The "better economic managers" myth is clearly the most successful myth the media and LNP have run and are still running, because it still works.

Less educated people read it and swallow it, since it's been repeated so many times. And when other media or the ALP try to explain things with details or nuance, they're tuned out, it's too hard for most to comprehend national finances.

The doofus LNP member who went to Hiroshima (member for Fairfax) gets up to ask a question and Chalmers interjects "here comes the member for glow-in-the-dark"

A little bit of wee came out when he said that

As annoying as that MP behind Albo in question time. 0/10 choreography.

Be annoyed by cost of living increases. The Government policies aren't helping. In fact they're making things worst.

The only thing that isn't helping is the NO NO NO NO to every Government initiative by the LNP that has now been joined by the Greens imbeciles who are opposed to the Safeguards mechanism that will bring down greenhouse gas emissions substantially and the National Reconstruction Fund which would be an incredible fillip for the energy restructuring, the economy, jobs and for those that are doing it tough, like women trying to leave domestic violence situations with their children, older women who are or are vulnerable to being homeless, Veteran's homelessness etc etc.

It's as if the crap situation that Australia finds itself in was created by the present Government! This Government's warp speed progress in reconstructing Australia and trying to help the most vulnerable is quite breathtaking.

There was a question from some Nationals sheila to the Prime Minister the other day about one of her constituents not getting any cost of living help as yet and Albanese reminded her that it was her and the LNP that voted against direct help to people and that people were receiving cost of living help.

As for Government policies, what do you reckon it would be like with a Morrison led Government now considering that inflation and a one trillion dollar debt was of their making?
