I have just recieved a phone call and have it on good authority that Peter Reid has been sacked, Eddie Gray is temporarily in charge. Must say I feel a bit sorry for the guy as he is an honest man who was giving all he got, unfortunately it's not as easy to sack players. Hopefully Paul Hart will be appointed.

Oh I thought this was old news, read it on another forum a few hours ago that he'd been sacked and figured everyone must know by now. All this sacking is, is a desperate attempt to keep Viduka at Leeds, I'm afraid. Would much rather him follow Reid out the door!!

This is 100% pure rumour but worth hoping for, I read that a Yorkshireman (name escapes me) worth 500m was prepared to help the club out on the condition Reid was gone. He is apparently responsible for the 4.4 we recieved not long ago along with Leighton.

No doubt Reid inherited a poisoned chalice and has had a very difficult job, but can he really cut it as a top-flight manager? He had a couple of good seasons with Sunderland, thanks to the goals of Phillips and Quinn, but as that dried up and Sunderland resorted to turgid and negative tactics it was clear he lost the plot.

I have supported him up until the weekend, but I'm afraid he has to go. Too much disharmony on and off the pitch, lack of commitment and most importantly, constant floggings. You just can't get beaten 6-1 these days by an average side and there not be a backlash, especially when he is already hanging on to the job by a thread as it is.

Time to make a change now, while there is still time to salvage something from the season - our premiership status.

You lot may laugh, but I could see a Heskey - Viduka swap, with a cash adjustment (and don't ask which way).
After the way that Liverpool made Leeds bend over for them in the Kewell transfer, I'd say that they money would be heading towards Anfield.

Despite Heskey's mistakes, he is one footballer who does try hard. Viduka can cruise, and if he's p*ssed off, lose any sense of professionalism. However, Viduka, when he's in form, is a much more dangerous player than Heskey.

Liverpool would think that a Viduka/Owen combination backed up by Kewell could be the finishing touch.
On paper, that set up would give plenty of opposition backlines nightmares.

However, I can't see Kewell arguing too strongly to Houllier about the merits of Viduka.

I cant wait for Reid to get another job, it will be interesting to see which club he gets relegated next.

To those blaming Viduka for Reid's downfall, dont bother. Viduka may be a prat but Reid is a **** manager and Leeds are a club that has been going downhill for quite some time.

SB,

Give us heap (esp Jod23;)), but please spare us the defence of Heskey.

Outright vitriol (even from Hindsight Hitman) is far easier to take than sympathy for Heskey, as another season going down in flames.
