To touch on something JB mentioned in his speech, when history is written on the events of 2007, I also hope that any lingering personal differences that may still exist don't mean that Ron Joseph's massive contribution towards "saving the club" is forgotten either.

So true. Ron Joseph is a hero of the club. I suspect that if not for Ron and the late Robbie Smith we may well be on the Gold Coast. The assistance they provided was the catalyst for WANM and much of the discussion on Bigfooty at the time. Ron Joseph is the NMFC man I admire the most. He is the shinboner spirit.

Geez 10 million contribution over 8 years is massive. I wonder why JB never put the white knights criticism to bed? When clearly it was always there just covert.
Makes you really bitter thinking about those members not resigning membership because of "Boomer".
Considering the massive generosity of this man, we are still not entirely self reliant and contributions from members is imperative.
Funny how JB says in different words, city hall screwed us less when Peter was present.

Makes you wonder how other clubs with 13 million in debts can seemingly cruise through a season effortlessly, when we were dieing a slow death with 9 million debt

I was at one of the original JB presentations of the White Knights concept and I remember saying at the time how vague and lacking in detail it was considering how important it would become. I suppose history shows that the concept was a dream and not as advanced as suggested at the time. However, JB drove the stay North crew that would keep us at Arden St and nobody can ever take that away from him. At the end of the day the White Knight plan would become more of a negative than it needed to be (thanks Caro) because with or without them the club was saved. Gotta love JB for that alone.

How frightening is it to read those previous posts about the Duff era. Next year is a decade since WANM and Dallas Brooks Hall, we are in a far better place and it should be celebrated.

JB did it - just not the way he said. Created a PR problem by categorising the income when he probably didn't have to. The whole White Knight thing became such a negative. We are still the North Melbourne Football Club so no matter how it was done, JB made it happen.

They are huge contributors. Perhaps if it was framed in a way to suggest that we did infact receive monies from the white knights, then no doubt the spin would have been how we rely on handouts and that our business model is not sustainable long term.
I watched on open mike how peter Gordon contributes a couple of hundred thousand to the club each year as do a few others. That's pretty much chump changed compared to Peter Scanlon alone

These men epitomise what it is to be a shinboner. Forever in their debt. Take note Brad Scott newcomer with big mouth.
