There have been much worse debuts so well done.

Good sign for Siddle is that Ponting was prepared to bowl him often and give him the new ball. It's usually pretty clear when Ponting has no faith in a bowler.

To the poster who said he will have a ripping average (who is no doubt an Indian supporter) he now averages 38, only 4 runs away from the mighty Zaheer Khan.

In first class cricket, Siddle has a better bowling average, strike-rate, best figures and economy rate than Bollinger.

In one day domestic he has a better average and strike rate.

In 20/20 he has a better economy, strike-rate and average.

He's a better batter.

He's over 3 years younger.

I seriously doubt you've seen him bowl at FC level, but it would be like you to judge him off one performance.

Agree on Clark but Siddle has just as much talent if not more than the other bowlers you've listed.
