Without knowing any specifics, 7 will be changing things up next season. With Hodgey and Roo coming on next season, they're will.be some changes there. I did hear somewhere in the media that Ling may be getting the cut. Let's just hope a.couple of his mates get the old heave ho as well.

Amen to that. As I said in another thread can the media come up with some other narrative other than 'Richmond supporters are loud'.

Yeh we get it. The first 10-15 minutes of every sports show on radio or tv is about the Tiger Army blah blah blah.

Hopefully this week we get balanced reporting as Adelaide are just as loud and just as passionate.

If 7 paid any attention to Bigfooty there'd be no commentators at all. Richo is fine, Lingy I can live with but BASIL ****in Zempilas is a scourge on any live play football commentary. He is so distractingly poor I have sometimes walked away from watching games as I simply couldn't stand it any further. I understand he is Stokes toy boy but keep him upstairs as far away from live play call as possible for **** sake. Geeze even then he'll be lucky to get through a telecast without some major **** up.

Yesterday was the worst, most cringeworthy and obnoxious coverage of a game I've ever witnessed. Totally amateurish and unprofessional from start to finish. Basil calls every single goal in "highlights" fashion, he wanted to steal every defining moment to feed his ego and engrave his awful, faux-excited clown voice into posterity. Mate, you don't have even a thimble fulls worth of the talent and charisma of Dennis Cometti, the sooner you stop trying to emulate your hero and adopt a more appropriate, restrained style of calling the better it'll be for all of us.

I've given up on him getting the boot, for whatever unfathomable cosmic reason he's going to be polluting our eardrums for decades to come, so I can only hope he eventually improves to the level of "barely tolerable".

He comes across as nothing but a Ch 7/AFL mouthpiece. For someone who was such a fierce player he's as meek as a kitten these days. And yeah his voice is starting to become Ricciuto-like now, very grating.

Channel 7 doesn't get much right, but having Richo on the mike at the siren makes up for a lot of their incompetence.

Totally agree. Missed the game tonight, but saw the highlights. Richo's blood curdling cry made it special. You could feel the last 35 years of frustration be cast off.

I personally think there should be one neutral caller and na outright biased supporter of each team for all games. So sick of the pretending to be happy for everyone. I want joyful and bitter tribalism screaming down the microphone. Full on arguments about umpires decisions or which player is a dog ... only to hear the occasional "I might have got a little carried away there" upon seeing a replay or the neutral trying to explain to one of them that no the umpire is not cheating paying a free kick for your player punching someone in the head.

These guys can train as much as their teams. Trying to get some great oneliners ready to cut down the opposition commentator. Maybe it could just be an opption.

Can anyone remember the days on Pay TV ( Austar- Fox ) you could choose what commentary you could pick if you want to listen to the crowd or the umpires instead of the commentary??? Oh please i wish i could pick that option, as i don't have to listen to the commentry as it sounded so better when you could pick with those options....

It was too successful! The commentators were almost out of their jobs
