It's not a great feeling when your pet is in pain and you can only massage them and reassure them. Poor Bonnie's arthritis is kicking in, even though I am giving her some meds but come humidity or rain and she is feeling it. Is snoozing now but earlier was wimpering and struggled to get up, poor old thing. Another Vet visit coming up. There is also the lump in lymp glands issue.

I'm hoping against all hope the vet can come through with stronger meds but if she's going to be in pain...going to be a long hard week. phew.

Sad to hear about Bonnie's ongoing issues Gab. we all have our fingers and paws crossed here for a healthy recovery or at least some respite from the pain. Good luck with it all.

Sorry to see that re. Bonnie Gab. I don't know if you've been using these but they help ALOT! They were passed onto us for Bella by the same experts who pointed us in the direction which ended up saving Archer's life. They're breeders. All the best with Bonnie.

Thanks TT and Dan for kind words. Will look into this product, meaning will buy. We are off to the vet tomorrow morning as not open today and the logistics of taking Bonnie into Townsville is just too hard and I wouldn't want to put her through the stress of a muzzle, boat ride, car ride and back again.

I felt such a meanie this morning when going for walkies, she wanted to come but only got a couple of houses down the street and her back legs went, got her up somehow, took her home then just went out with Clyde. The poor thing, heart was willing but body not. I'm sure people in Townsville heard her wails and cries.

R.I.P. Bonnie. A loving, sweet happy dog who had a good innings, nearly 12 and spent the last two and a half years of her life on a tropical island.

Had to let the head rule the heart this morning and she went peacefully with me holding her.

Her body got worse and last night her back legs gave way when going to the loo around midnight, it took me an hour to ease her into the house. Was wimpering and stressing on and off and I didn't want to her to go through that for much longer. Vet found more cancerous lumps and the prognosis wasn't good.

I'll remember Bonnie as the Too Cool For School dog with a loving nature but who's aim in life was to try to catch one of them darn possums.

She's now chasing cats in heaven.

Oh Gab. Really sorry to hear that.

Thanks for sharing with us Gabbie and I hope you find solace in the quality time, love and attention you gave Bonnie in her final years, not many dogs get to retire gracefully in such an idealic location and with such a devoted owner, from your accounts on here she was a "good dog" and will be terribly missed by you and Clyde.

R.I.P. Bonnie.

I am so sorry to read this Gabby!! With tears in my eyes, my thoughts are with both Clyde and yourself at this difficult time. She was a beautiful girl and will always be with you in your heart. Never an easy decision to make... Our pets give us so much love and happiness over the years, it is soooo incredibly hard to have to say 'see you soon'.
R.I.P. Beautiful Bonnie.

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and words guys.:thumbsu:

As I said to my neighbour who carried her to his car and into the vet, "She's a tough girl, a real Shinboner" :thumbsu:and he, an ex Vic, knew what I was saying and said she definitely was.

Jesus Gabbie, I'm so sorry to read this today. You know how close to home this is for me, still gutted over my own recent similar loss. I can truly empathise, having collected Bella's ashes only yesterday (which brought it all back again).

So very sorry for your loss of Bonnie. She's chasing the possums with fellow possum chaser Bella in doggie heaven.

My deepest most heartfelt sympathies Gab xxx

RIP Bonnie

This time last year.....

Dan, your Jack sure is one cheeky faced woofer, but in a good way. He must keep you on your toes.:)

Just an update on the Gabbie dog front. Clyde has been really good being the solo dog at home. I was concerned he would fret big time but seems to be fine, lets out a bark or two when I go out but then he did that anyway.

That's good to hear, Gabbie. You must be creating a good environment for him at home.:)

As for Jack, he's seems pretty aware of the camera. I like that sideways look he's giving as he sits on his chair.

:D

Mugshots! They both look innocent to me. My money's on an intruder.

Hi guys, Clyde and I are doing fine. My modem bit the bullett on Monday and I have been off the air til today.

As for those two rascals who I must add are as cute and handsome as George Clooney and Antonio Banderas in my book after Clyde of course, look very guilty.

Errrrr lesson to us all, don't leave anything around that a dog can knock over and break. Trust me, learnt not to put wine glass on coffee table as a wagging tail can get in the way. Especially a full wine glass.:D
