Can Clyde get em open Gabbie?

Archie jumps up and grabs plums off our plum tree and apples off the apple tree and eats 'em, he leaves the plum pips but eats the apple whole. He will also crack open walnuts and eat the nut and leave the shell. Marvin mooches around and gets the leftovers:). They both really love walnuts.

Must get a video of the "walnut cracking" when they ripen , it's quite a skill :D

Actually I really must get some good video of all our pets before they get too much older, especially Archie 'cause he's got a few good "tricks".

Plenty of plums on the tree, not sure about the apples (pruned it pretty hard this year), always get a load of walnuts, but they'll all be a few weeks away yet. So when there is fruit, I'll do some video and bump this thread if necessary. There is also some talk that Archie passed on the walnut cracking skills to Marvin last year (it just takes 100 times longer for Marvin to crack 'em).

Yes, reckon SB is cranking up the camera and putting Arch and Marv through their paces. :thumbsu: Trouble is never work with dogs and kids, cos they never do what you want them to do when camera is rolling. :D

Mine follow the true faith.

and meet LUCKY the frog, called Lucky because it's lucky Bonnie didn't get it.

I wish my woofers would do tricks but their idea of a good time is eat, sniff trees/anything/coppers bums (LOL), follow me around, go for walks, try to get a possum, frog, lorikeets, lizard and big snoozing.

You haven't kissed the frog have you Gabbie? :p

That's Jack's favourite trick.

Kissed a few over the years but they didn't turn into princes :D:(

With snoring and silent deadly ones at the same time???:D:eek:

Had an interesting night here last night woofer wise. I've had mine 2 years this weekend and they haven't socialised with other dogs BUT last night the staffy at the back, which came after they did so to speak and they swap pleasantries through the fence, chewed the bottom of a paling or two of fence, dug under it and came over to "play". I was surprised to say the least that there wasn't an issue as he's a male but I notice went into submissive pose around Clyde who was happy to make a friend. Long story short, his owners were out, got a message through to them, I wanted him home as it was way past doggy and mine bed time and 2 beds don't go into three and didn't fancy a squabble. They came home, but his owner was a bit tipsy when he came to collect and somehow dog tookoff on way home then I spotted him wandering up my road. Called him over and off we went. Picture it, me in night attire walking this escapeologist with one of my dog's leads up the road, round two corners with eyes everywhere looking out for SNAKES. As a result I was left with Clyde being quite antsy and fidgety for about an hour though Bonnie was a case of "whatever I'm comfy and going to sleep". Phew.

I need to get out more.

:)

Will do, when I get the chance :o. They are no champion obedience dogs by any stretch of the imagination, but Archie can do a few things (especially if there's a treat involved):). Apples and plums still a fair way off, but we do have some walnuts from last year. Marvin is the snoring champ at our place (Mrs SB might not agree), the little Pug pushed in face is perfectly formed for snoring and he really makes the most of it.

Gabbie, please tell me that frog photo is taken outside on a window ledge.

:D:D Yes, the kitchen window ledge just above the gully trap where for a while 3 of them were hanging out during the day til dusk, trouble was Bonnie got 2 of them as they popped out. Frogs are our buddies, they eat flies and mozzies and all sorts of bugs.

Don't worry I get the odd one or two baby ones in the house or a "teenage" frog in the toilet bowl...that can be an exercise in itself getting it out IF I KNOW IT'S THERE  now I check each time I go. Frog city in the wet season.

Could be worse, a snake taking refuge in the loo is not my idea of fun.

No, a snake in the house would be the last straw for me. A woman once told me she lived on an avacado plantation just outside of Broome and she had to look before she stepped off her front and back steps onto the ground. She also said that she regularly had snakes IN the house.

One day a visitor offered to make her a cup of tea. She looked up at the cups and saucers on the shelf and noticed a small snake up there.

Rather than alarm the visitor or risk having all her cups broken she said calmly: "Before we have our cuppa, come outside. There's something I'd like you to see in my garden."

You got any photos of these snakes Gabbie?

Nope, haven't spotted one YET but eyes are always on lookout, get nervous when a kookaburra sits on fence as they are a natural enemy to said snakes.

Note to self - get shovel out of shed just in case.

My two woofers seemed to be interested in something in the neighbours garden up close to dividing fence this morning - could be a snake or an echidna as I spotted one or two of them around.

Just noticed this thread , we had to put our Dog of 11 and a half years asleep the other week. Was a very sad day indeed you don't realise how much apart of the family they are. The vet came to our house and when he asked us what to do it was very difficult . I had to leave my wife stayed with him . He did go off in style though in the front seat of the Vets BMW. He will continue to be a North member Forever he has already been one for 5 years. Not sure if we will get a Dog for a while though.

Saw your post on the debt reduction thread. Very sad, Ashley B.

I didn't think I could ever own another dog after we had to have one of ours put to sleep several years ago. But time is a great healer.

Still, you never forget.

Sorry to hear that Ash :(

May your dog rest in peace.

Yeah thanks fellas I couldn't go in the yard for a few days still can't throw his food out. It does leave a big hole in your life, he was a Staffy so if we do get another Dog we will probably get another Bull terrier.

Condolences from me and my woofers. Yes they are part of the family and I hope your boy is up there chasing cats and eating the best bones.

On a lighter note, Vet driving a BMW huh! Must be an ordinary vet :D if that's all he can afford considering the cost of fees. Mine drives a 4WD.

Day 1 - Jack.....

A big AAAWWWW from me Dan.

That's one thing I miss about my two, not knowing what they were like as puppies but I have an idea that Clyde was the bouncy cheery type who got into more mischief and Bonnie the Miss Too Cool for School.

Wish they could remain that small bit longer, they grow so quickly.
