Re: Make no doubt about it our game will sellout

ive got mates who have sold there tickets on ebay for over $500 and are now going into corporate boxes. people are going crazy for tickets paying stupid amounts of $$$$$$ for tickets have a look on ebay.

http://search.ebay.com.au/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=geelong+tickets&category0=
I'm hoping I'll be able to do the same if one of my mates comes through with his works corporate box. Isn't it illegal to auction them off on eBay??

na not illegal. grand final tix are the only ones that come under the government anti-scalping laws.

imagine how much GF tix would go for if u were able to put them on ebay, if ppl are paying this much for prelim tix!
Well i have got a series ticket so i already have one if we dont get up im taking out an ad in the paper with only my number on it aslo might make another user id on ebay and list it the same way. but i would think it would have to be worth about a grand ?

When did you get that? When the AFL released their ticket prices I emailed them asking if they were selling series tickets and they sent one back saying they are not being sold this year.

I hope the game is a sellout, then we can get the game live in Canberra and Sydney. They telecast it with an hour delay, just in case we wish to stroll down to the ground and get in.

Idiots.

Tickets and CH7 Coverage merged

All, we should boycott channel 7 post the AFL finals series. Why delay the game in cities other than Melbourne ??

Makes no sense whatsoever. Why pay part of $780 million then delay it? They aren't going to win the ratings as I think a rugby league game is on, so therefore wouldn't win in the Northern states anyway.

Better Homes and Gardens hey, nice move channel 7, a sure ratings winner.

Re: Channel 7 Coverage = Poor

they are delaying it because it will be a ratings winner and playing the delayed game means they can can run a lot more commercials and therefore make more money from the telecast. The last thing they want to do is play it live.

They would get more ratings if they played it live. I wouldnt be surprised if they lost 20% of more of the audience they would usually get if they play it delayed. I know most of the time when a Geelong game is delayed, I just listen to it on radio and dont bother waiting for a reply. I dont mind occasional delayed games on tv like the sat afternoon ones but channel 7 have shown maybe 2 or 3 of their 50+ games this year live. Just plain crap 7.

I'm in Brisbane so God knows when I'll get to see it.

Thinking about back-packing it down to Melbourne and watching it at
one of the pubs with mates:thumbsu:

Re: Channel 7 Coverage = Poor

Everyone post to the Sunrise soap-box. Will take you all of two minutes to indicate your attitude towards the delayed telecast to virtually all of Australia.

http://seven.com.au/sunrise/form_soapbox

Stick it up these losers, the annoying thing is that their CEO came on TV only a couple of months back saying they were going to have better coverage.

How ?? By delaying it ??

Please do this now, blog them to death because of their stupidity. I doubt it will get on TV, but at least they know people are pissed off.

Re: Channel 7 Coverage = Poor

Anyone got a ch. 7 email address I can send an email to?
The soapbox is the only one I could find, send to that (posted it above). It may get read out.

I've also posted the same link to the BF AFL page, which will hopefully get updated soon. Which means CH7 may feel the wrath of all pi$$ed off interstate AFL supporters.

Its stupidity, delayed game takes the suspense out, unless your good enough to avoid the internet like the plague and wait for the telecast to be on, and I don't have enough nerves to do that :p

That is why we all have to get onto soapbox, send in an email each and if we get say 1000 people all saying the same thing, they may change their minds.

Better off to show off numbers than to take it with your hands clasped to your ankles.
