If c7 execs are watching I'd be pouring cold water on it.

Brownlow medal night will be some fizzer if he's ineligible. How do u suppose Brucey builds up that tension from rd 6 on wards. when the winners know Gil reads the last rd votes at warp speed. He'll be in overdrive from rd 12!!!!

Got that arseabout I think, they would be drooling all night if Danger's leading but ineligible, they would mention it about 3 times every 2 seconds.
Remember, they're in it for the spectacle, not the sport or the contest.

3. Rough Conduct (Dangerous Tackles) The application of a tackle may be considered Rough Conduct which is unreasonable in the circumstances. In determining whether the application of a tackle constitutes a Reportable Offence and whether the offence is Careless or Intentional, without limitation, regard may be had to the following factors, whether:

» The tackle consists of more than one action, regardless of whether the Player being tackled is in possession of the ball;
» The tackle is of an inherently dangerous kind, such as a spear tackle or a tackle where a Player is lifted off the ground;
» The Player being tackled is in a vulnerable position (ie arms pinned) with little opportunity to protect himself;
» An opponent is slung, driven or rotated into the ground with excessive force.

CS explained it perfectly. Danger tackled when Kruezer had the ball, pinned his arms to negate disposal, rolled to the side to prevent an in-the back decision. He couldn't see the ball spill from Kruezer's hands. If a tackle is regarded as within the rules injury to the other party plays no part in the outcome. Nothing to see here, although the commentariat have to sell papers and attract 'clicks' so expect some hoo-ha.

If he goes he goes, I'm not bovvered - will still most likely poll the most Brownlow votes and will go close to winning the AFLPA MVP award again, depending on how the players view Dustin Martin's admittedly impressive season.

Surely he has bigger fish to fry in his pursuit of greatness than another Brownlow.

Monday might mark the end of a budding broadcasting career of a special comments man on K-Rock. Direct quote from Bluey McGrath: "If Danger gets suspended for that, I'm not coming back to the footy."

Just had a look over on the main board (MRP). They're going ballistic over there. Most seem to think the only reason Paddy will get off is because he's Brownlow favourite and the AFL will intervene.

From my viewpoint, it was a single action, no pick-up or sling, and Kruzers shoulder hit first.

Its really silly if he get's any penalty - suspension or a fine.

There was no sling action, which is considered dangerous.

He was behind the player (who illegally disposed of the ball mind you, he threw it out) and he wasn't aware Kreuzer had lost possession of the ball.

He brought him to the ground, like most tackles are meant to do, whether there is incidental concussion is just moot.

BREAKING: MRP releases report early on the incident to hose down speculation and to provide certainty to Brownlow betting markets.*

"Other incidents assessed

An incident between Geelong's Patrick Dangerfield and Cartlton's Matthew Kreuzer was assessed. Dangerfield tackles Kreuzer who disposes of the ball while tackled. Dangerfield continues to tackle Kreuzer to the ground and Kreuzer's head makes contact with the ground. However the view of the panel was that Dangerfield would not have been able to see that the ball had been disposed of. No slinging action was involved in the tackle. No further action was required."

*True story bro ;)

If (when) PD gets off the melts will be off the charts.

Blues will melt as it was Kreuzer.
Freo will melt as McCarthy went for a similar but more severe tackle.
Hawks will melt well because they're stupid and bitter
Tigers will melt cos Dusty 4 Charlie.
Swans will melt as we play them next.

Come on Jimmy, trigger the comp again :D

So Kruze suffered concussion so it must be a week or two. So how come Ballantyne didn't get done when he and Selwood collided??? Because he did nothing wrong.

It's like getting concussion from an errant kick and being falconed. It's the action first. If that's illegal then they should look at the impact.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Richo gave a good assessment on 7 - the mrp needs to review the action and not just the aftermath.

The action was fine and it was unfortunate he got concussed but he shouldn't suspended because of that

And Crows fans will melt as it was Dangerfield and they still have pain aft.
