Unless the order has changed as a result of the delistings, we traded pick 72 to Fremantle for pick 69 as part of the Warnock trade.

Not sure how to react to this.

I am a bit surprised we didn't give him a 2nd year.

Having said that, I don't think he was going to make it. He was tough and his skills were decent, but he was virtually totally ineffective in every game he played for us.

Was hardly sighted in any game so consistency was a major issue.

I'm kinda in the same boat...I was wrapped that we picked him up, and really looking forward to rubbing some Adelaide noses in it down the track...but not to be.

He did play one cracking pre season game that made everyone sit up and take notice...was it the Freo game?

Had the endeavour, but just lacked the polish in the real stuff, arsey goal aside. Taking the rose coloured glasses off I suppose its for the best, as long as replace him with a better prospect, and keep strengthening the list.

Wish Dick would hurry up with those Visy sponsored Judd cloning trials.

Simple. They changed the rule so you can retain a rookie for 3 years, after the Eagles essentially delisted their rookie list and then redrafted all of them + 1 new player. All the players had to be delisted (or promoted) under the rules at the time as they'd been been on RL for the maximum 2 years.

Not that you actually utilised the rule.

I remember after the pre season draft last year I posted here, how disappointed I was when we picked him up and I got shot down here by the majority of Carlton fans on big footy.
Well another great pick and hopefully the next delisting is WH

As hard as it is for the kid, its great to see the club moving on a player who just couldn't cut it, and was never in our best 22.

Great attack and tried his guts out (Hartlett could take notes for the kid) but his disposal was shocking, probably the one of the worst this year to play in our 22.

We have a strong 25 players that will form the core group next year and Pfeiffer just wans't in it...good decision, try the young kids from the draft.

Interesting also RFC delisted their first pick from last years PSD also...so pick 1 and 2 only lasted a year.....funny!!

Pfeiffer was never gonna be a gun player let's n ot kid purselves but i hate that we've let him go just after one year. Been outta action for one day and all this shit happens.

Whatever he was he provided depth and could do some good things. Chirs Johnson would be an ideal replacement but who knows what will happen.

I am a little bit diappointed but not entirely shocked either.

He did show soemthing but not consistently enough - he did give us a fantatsic highlight with a snapped goal vs Freo, not may one season players have a highlight like that to be remembed by (one is better than none).

Who knows if he has been asked to continue pre-season he may be picked up later in the PSD, rookied or even last pick of ours for the National Draft?

From time to time we see players and hang onto them for a bit longer than we should and dont turn the list over to try and pick a diamond out of the rough, did we hang onto the Callan Beasy's, Prendergast, Livingston's etc for a year or two longer than we shaould have??

I have faith in the match commitee these days to think that they will make a few hard calls and turn players over for the long-term future of the club. They more than likely look at evry player and ask the question is this player capable of helping us win a flag - not easy some calls but they have to be made.

He needed a bit more time to develop and improve.

Either that or he'll be one of our 2 nominated rookies and can play seniors anyway.

Wouldnt beleive everything Pickering says, more than likely he is his manager and will say anything to promote his own. IMHO there are better player available to us, and we can promote them come midseason.

I'm sure as his manager, which he is, he knows exactly what the situation is with the club. That I could tell when I heard it. There was no promotion, he was just telling us the situation with the club.

It's not hard to work out.

I wanted wonamerri as a rookie, but you said he was no good
