I'm sure snoop won't be on for a while, so unless someone else has his preferences, we're stuck again.

We would HAVE to go tall with this pick, having taken midfielders with both picks 8 and 10. I know nothing fro othing about the kids, but people keep mentioning Tippett as a likely pick 28

i wonder if benjamin would slip this far in the real draft

Very outside chance. However, I'd say one of the WA boys will drop to about here (O'Brien, Hawksley, Benjamin, Morton) but they wont get past WC at 29. Freo would have been a chance to get one otherwise IMO.

Thanks for holding - Derby Day beckonned!

Collingwood - 28 - Kurt Tippett

Exactly what we wanted.....

Tall Fwd/ruck . Plied his teens as a basketballer and was convinced to play AFL only recently.

Since then become a Power Fwd who had a great carnival and who has bolted up the charts. Pie fans will love the fact that he solves two of our biggest problems in one go.

I have seen him 7-8 times. In some ways I think he could become a terrific ruck with his palming to advantage. Will bring blokes into the game. Fwd he is a great kick for goal!

Welcome Kurt!

Sounds like a steal to me! What pick is he expected to be gone at in the real draft, coz if i remember correctly, Max Bailey was touted as a pick in the 50's, but was picked with pick 18 for the Hawks!

Pick 29 - West Coast: Ben REID

My plan hasn't quite worked so far and thought it was definitely time to take a tall. Extremely raw, West Coast have the time to allow him to develop in the WAFL. Athletic and versatile, Ben could develop into whatever WC deem appropriate. I must admit that I haven't seen a great deal of him and therefore cannot comment conclusively on his skills etc, however I'm happy to take him with this selection.

I would have taken Allen, and was considering Collier prior to LF picking him. That said, i probably would have taken Reid over Collier, although I do rate Collier quite highly.

I'm online but going to have to call for an extension as i am deciding between a few.

Dude - Sinepari and I have made this easy for you!

You've made it damn difficult

Melbourne Pick #30 - Clinton Benjamin

I really wanted to go tall here, but didn't expect Schmidt and Benjamin to slide this far. Difficult choice because there were a couple of talls i really wanted and a runner at #46 i wanted. Benjamin is too good to let slide much farther. Height and pace and could play in 2007 will add some extra pace and run out of defense. Along with Davey and my other selection Edwards, we have some real pace and flair now.

Write-up to follow.

Definitely not a bad choice Gilly. He could definitely turn into a gun, but Melb would need to be patient.

Benjamin is good. Seen him live 3 times and maybe 4-5 tapes. Could be anything......

He was in my mind along with Reid! Was not worried about taking Proud and Hislop but choosing btw Tipper/Reid and Benj was v diff!

does anyone share my view that the biggest concern about reid is is hands, not his weight? Fumbles a bit I think.

Most talls do fumble untill their bodies ,thats height wise, stopped growing. Reid started the season not quite 194 cm and has finished the season at almost 197 cm.He is fast and agile and very bottom age, therefore clubs will punt on his development.

Tough call on a kid that is still growing.

His hands are good in the air ,thats a positive.

If he had all the boxes ticked , then it would be a first rounder.

Good prospect, but needs to go to a Club that will give him time .

Anyone who saw the final game of the carnival would not be worried. In terrible, wet conditions Reid one grabbed everything, in the air or at ground level.
