If your asking to take Hawkins with the pies pick i dont think you can dont you think he would have been picked 20 picks ago.
well yes but if you read the recent posts it suggests that f/s selections are not locked in.

Does this rule around father sons mean I can take Tom Hawkins?

we better stick with father sons.

means diablo and myself are out of the third round.

would be more interesting if we just ignored Hawkins and Kennedy IMO, or just gave Hawthorn and Geelong picks on top of father sons, or make 'em 5th round selections or something. Would be pretty boring sitting out for 2 rounds I imagine.

Not even the AFL move the goal posts half way through an event. Most of us have been seriously attempting to be as realistic as possible. If Hawkins was available from the beginning I would have taken him with my pick 4.
F/S's stay. Otherwise what's the point of this exercise?

AGREED !!!!!

Good point, no point in moving the goal posts mid draft even for a trial run.

Diablo and myself sit out next round.

yeah fair enuff irel. i think that means tho that clubs like carlton who have father son options have to nominate whether they are going to take f/s prior to the third round and who it is going to be.

Anyway, not taking Tom as it would not be realistic

Collingwood selects - N.Brown
Nth Ballarat - 194cm, 89kg

This was a really tough call bc there is a player I had my heart set on but I just did not think this bloke would fall this far. I was certain the Doggies would have taken him and fear he wont fall any further.

What I like about this bloke is he is hard at it and holds his feet really well in a marking contest. Mostly plays back but can also go fwd as he did this weekend to kick a few and could genuinely develop into a player anywhere up the spine. Real nice left kick. Shows good vision and just has that Morwood look of 'coolness' and will not shirk a contest.

Was selected in the All Australian Side at FB and was voted state MVP. Saw him in the final and he was one of their best on a very wet day that did not suit the big lads.

Welcome to the Pies!

WESTERN BULLDOGS PICK 29 -Brent Renouf (Southport)

I believe the Bullies will be looking to stockpile a few talls and Renouf is the best still available IMO.Also capable of playing in a key position as well.

Demons select Grant Weeks - Bendigo Pioneers 189cm, 90kg

Biggest ?? is he is that not really true KPP size at 189cm, so what position does he play? HFF seems the most likely position at AFL.

Mobile and versatile forward, very strong overhead and quick on the lead, field kicking is good, but set shots can be erratic, strong body already and should be AFL ready first year, but maybe not as much improvement left in him.....was a toss up between he and Tippett as i'm not sold on Melbourne's ruck stocks, but Weeks is the best available at #30 IMO......a few question marks and maybe doesn't perfectly fit the Demons needs as they have Robbo as another inbetween sized forward who is more athletic and explosive than Weeks, but the thing that got Weeks over the line is he has the engine and ability to push into the midfield.

HBF...There's actually no reason he couldn't play as an undersized FF, then pinch-hit in the midfield or as a loose man down back...almost as Brad Johnson has been this year. The dees have a pretty solid list all around, and have no glaring weaknesses really. There is a lot to like about him though, and i understand his form post carnival has been pretty solid too.

they could use an on baller or wingman with genuine pace.

Its an interesting stage and I was a bit surprised you took Weeks in front of one or two others.

As you say Melb need that type of player and he could develop into a very good utility. Can kick goals and play HBF or wing.

Not a bad size so will be interesting to see how the body shape develops.

Renouf is a good player and I think you are right he was best ruck still there.

Will be interesting to see which other ruckmen are taken

LH - can I make a suggestion that when we finish at end of Rd 4 or 5 we each submit the players left that we would like to see taken in rookie for our respective clubs. That way we could see who is the most popular out of the remaining players and get a bit of a run down on them.
