Ok now that Rucci has finally revealed Roo conducted a black ops mission to get Walsh, and we know he's not one to sensationalise a story to create an exclusive I can release these images from back in July, they were in the encryption thread (I swear!) but for those too lazy to decrypt...

Well, that sort of confirms what was being rumoured: we had our man in mind, if not on the dotted line when Sando got sacked. Also that Roo's prints are all over it.

"The image of Adelaide sacking Sanderson while having a preferred candidate is reinforced by Ricciuto’s comments. Some of the candidates interviewed by the Crows’ five-man search party for Sanderson’s replacement say they left their presentations feeling Adelaide had already made a choice.
Ricciuto said he left his first meeting with Walsh convinced he fitted the billing of an AFL senior coach."

Could we have sacked him earlier but waited until 3 days before we could officially approach Walsh?
Which candidates and when did Ruchi speak with them? Quoting Rooch on this board should be a hanging offence. This clown has attempted to destabilise the Crows in every article he has written for the rag since we got Walsh. Must be really stinging down there at the swamp.

He's making a big deal out of Roo claiming to have conducted a "black ops" raid, but Roo made that comment in the context that nobody knew they were even speaking to Walsh until merely days before he was appointed.

This confirms nothing of the sort. Rucci is merely trying to do Ports bidding and make Adelaide look bad. Phil Walsh is an assistant coach and the crows can talk to him whenever they like, nothing stealthy about it. The reality is nothing happened. Rucci has joined the dots of what Roo and Walsh said and in a drunken stooper that resembles a 5 years olds dot to dot he has come up with a story that is genuinely nothing more than a pathetic attempt to get one upmanship on the AFC. The fact he has trod all over Roo's integrity on the issue but backed up Phil Walsh's version suggests he is a bitter little troll who doesn't care which bridges he burns in the search to make up stories. The AFC should genuinely send Rucci a letter that says enough's enough, you are banned from all our press conferences.

This is typical Rucci. Which candidates? Why did they feel this way? What a load of horseshit. Half truths and whispers stacked together to propose a possible version of what happened. End of the day, who cares.

Rucci was (is) a huge fan of Phil Walsh. At every opportunity he has heaped praise on Walsh over the years, praising his tactical mind, relationship with players, etc. I think his defection to the AFC is 'hurting' Rooch a little, hence the self-indulgent journalistic therapy he is undertaking for himself.

I totally agree with you. I thought this the first time I read it. This infers that Rooch had talked to the interviewees the first time they went to the club. Yet he never knew that Phil Walsh had even been interviewed at that point so this obviously didn't happen. And did he talk to anyone the second time around? No, because he did not have any quotes from anyone. And as if the board would have given that impression to Bolton and Dew. As if those 2 would have even have known who the other candidate/s were and as if Bolton and Dew would have wasted their time going to the 2nd interview if they already felt they had no hope of securing the job.
