That's almost my childhood, except the jousting stick was the broom and the horse looked remarkably like my bike. Good times.
And you took about 7 inches of skin off each elbow to which your mum gave you a pat on your head and sent you back out to play....memories.

Trade Week Radio just had David Wheadon on having a talk about coaching, etc. They talked about the recent love-in with younger coaches and he mentioned the average age in the NFL, MLB etc and how we're so much younger here and thinks that coaches need more experience to be more successful.

He also said that being a father figure can be important but depends on the player. Also thinks that the Gen Y talk is rubbish and once they are on the field none of it matters.

Was an interesting listen. Hopefully Walshy's previous experience leads to him being a success at the Crows!

How is this even possible? Don't they (players and coach) spend hours upon hours at the club every week during the season? U would think it would be impossible not to have a conversation with everyone at least every month, even if you were doing all you can to avoid them.
Voss never spoke to his youngens either. I just don't understand that. I think in Sandos case, Bailey took the kids under his wing. Sando only dealt with the 22 (and then possibly only his best 15).

It was a bloody hot day.

I think I would've been dehydrated if I hadn't had about 30 beers!
I don't care if it was a hot day. We didn't lose against Richmond the next week because of the weather in Brisbane. We lost because Sanderson was not a very good coach and couldn't get us to play two decent games in a row.

Whinging about the weather is soft and it's a bad look for our club.

It's completely baffling. You need a relationships with all 40+ players on your list. Not just the ones you like..

I assumed that the weather comment was not about 25 being too hot, it was about getting the 'hot shift' too many times over the years while Collywobblewood never ever get it.

The comment seemed to be a prepared comment; he had his statistics to hand, etc. It was probably thought of before the weather forecast was even known. It could have been 32, and just bad luck it was 25. The only option seemed to be to wait for next time and see the weather then, which kind of leaves the comment unsaid for too long.

What he should have done IMHO is make the point that today is not a good example, but this just happens too often to ignore.

We're forever going to be lumped in the same sentence as the bulldogs in regards to players getting the coach sacked
Seriously, over small minded Victorian journalists....and some local ones aswell!

My club gets rids of a coach who is not capable of getting the job done! Right thing to do, whoever was responsible doesnt really matter! but at least our club captain and most of our older players are not threatning to walk out, or actually walking out!
The rest of these Victorians who are still stuck in pre 90s need to keep calm and F*** off! The WB,the saints and NM can join them.
