Eagles signed Ohio State P Cam Johnston.

Johnston (5’11/194) led the Big Ten in punting average in 3-of-4 seasons and was named 2016 Big Ten Punter of the Year, finishing fifth in the nation with a 46.2-yard average. A former Aussie Rules player from Melbourne, Johnston’s rugby style of punting has historically had mixed results in the NFL. Still, Johnston was a good enough college punter and has a strong enough leg to warrant a long look.

Also, we seem to be more willing to invest cash in UDFAs than in past years:

The Philadelphia Eagles made sure Corey Clement was on their roster for 2017, making the Wisconsin running back one of the highest paid undrafted free agents.

Clement signed a three-year, $1,666,665 million contract with the Eagles Saturday, making $465,000 for next season (the number typically given to undrafted players).

Philadelphia gave Clement $35,000 in guaranteed money, which was the second-highest in guaranteed dollars given to this year's undrafted free agent class. Clement gets $25,000 in guaranteed base salary with a $10,000 bonus.

KD Cannon got the highest amount of guaranteed money of the undrafted free agents, making $45,000 in in guarantees with the San Francisco 49ers.

Clement wasn't the only big contract the Eagles gave to this year's undrafted free agent class. Four of the 17 highest paid undrafted free agents were signed by the Eagles.

Philadelphia gave defensive lineman Winston Craig (Richmond) $20,000 in guaranteed money, tight end Billy Brown (Shepherd) $17,500, and defensive back Tre' Sullivan (Shepherd) $15,000.

are there zeros missing off those numbers;)
Nope, most UDFAs are lucky to get a signing bonus of more than $4500, and few contracts exceed $25,000. If they make the 53 man roster or the practice squad then they get a standard base level contract at that point...

LeGarrette Blount agrees to terms with Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles landed the NFL's rushing touchdown leader from 2016.

The Eagles announced Wednesday that they have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Blount. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the deal is worth a max of $2.8 million.

Good signing, needed a lead back who can stay upright (att: Ryan Matthews)... the obvious worry is he hasnt been same player he has been for the Pats when he played for the Bucs and Steelers, regardless, the signing makes a whole heap of sense.

Really surprised the Lions didnt go hard for him, they have scat backs galore and no one who can grind out the yards on first and second down. Abullah makes Ryan Matthews look like an ironman.

If he can fix our short yardage, particularly given Pedersons's wont to go for it, then he'll be worth the signing. Not here to be a feature back, just part of a platoon.

Will be interesting keeping the d off guard by mixing up the back sizes. Go from being run into by this guy to having to find Sproles and Pump.

Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ Advance Media gave Carson Wentz a B- for his performance at OTAs.

Shorr-Parks wrote an extensive report card for Wentz, grading him for accuracy, turnovers, long passes, mobility, red-zone performance and decision making. Wentz received high marks for mobility (A) and decision making (B) but struggled with turnovers (C-) and red-zone proficiency (D). Overall, he completed 53-of-86 passes with eight touchdowns and four picks in practices open to the media. Despite his imperfect play in the spring, Wentz's arrow should still be pointing up with an improved supporting cast led by Alshon Jeffery.

Maclin got cut by the chiefs some time ago. Maybe we dodged a bullet with Chip failing to resign him. Maybe he would not have had the same injuries if he stayed, but health has not been a skill that has followed Maclin's NFL career.

I miss Maclin.

Was he linked with the Ravens or have I just made that up?

Signed for 2 years with them, yes.
