I hate tomato sauce, and i will excuse myself if someone around me is eating it. Of course my mates pick up on this and chase me around with a bottle, which for me is a scary experience.

It's not like crying or freaking out in those videos, but something I desperately try to avoid.

Mate, I thought I was the only person with this issue. I have a phobia of condiments, especially with people spilling them on their clothes and staining it. I just can't look at them and have to leave the room if it happens. I too don't scream and run around like a madman but feel real uncomfortable.

There is an ad on TV at the moment for the Big Red potato chips where the man bites the chip and spills sauce on his business shirt and then wipes it with his tie. First time I saw this ad it freaked me out. Now when it comes on I switch the channel momentarily. Even that episode of The Simpons where Bart fills up the water pistols with ketchup and mustard and shoots Mr Burns - I just can't watch it!!!

My mates give me shit about the phobia too, pointing sauce bottles at their T-Shirts, etc. and having a good laugh at my expense. :) Good to know someone else shares this pain....haha

Just found this article while Googling that condiment phobia:

http://listverse.com/2007/08/20/top-10-bizarre-phobias/

What I found most interesting was this little passage:

Ithyphallophobia – Fear of Erections

Defined as “a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of an erect penis”, each year this surprisingly common phobia causes countless people needless distress. To add insult to an already distressing condition, most fear of erection therapies take months or years and sometimes even require the patient to be exposed repeatedly to their fear. Known by a number of names – Medorthophobia, Phallophobia, Ithyphallophobia, and Fear of an Erect Penis being the most common – the problem often significantly impacts the quality of life. It can can cause panic attacks and keep people apart from loved ones and business associates.

Wtf?

I live in the country and have come across many snakes. But I'm still freaked out by them. Walking along a bush track one day and was pretty absent minded, then I go to put my foot down and as I go to do so, the ground suddenly moves and a bloody yellow bellied tiger snake slinks off into the bush. i can't ever remember actually being able to hear my own heat beat. Also heard stories how people run them over in cars, and they flick underneath the wheel onto the car travelling behind. Not a good thought.

But the local snakes don't scare me as much as the thought of a bloody 10m constrictor, squeezing you to your death and digesting you whole...

^ I know a bloke who a ran over a tiger snake in his ute, then when he got to his destination looked in the tray, and there he was. Dead. Of course. But scared the shit out of him!

Mice and Rats. Which is weird because when I was about 10 I had a couple of pet mice which I had no problem with at all but now I absolutely cant stand the thought of one being anywhere near me. There is no actual turning point or moment in in time incident that this phobia developed either.

do you mean polystyrene foam or like foamy bubbles? i can't stand polystyrene foam and cotton wool, don't have a phobia as such though

Goosebumps just looking at that image.

I hate my toes touching the floor of any other shower other than my own.

I've actually taught myself to stretch my toes up & out of the way for the entire length of a shower. It's quite a sight actually. :|

Clowns. Seriously, clowns.

Went to Movie world when I was like 14, clown was following me around wanting to give me a balloon so I tried to punch it. :o

That is fine to be scared of that.. some of my local leisure centre showers are foul, I wouldnt set foot in them no way.

Someone eles like house tho and the shower is perfectly clean, then you are a weirdo. :p
