Was never really in to photography but since moving to Switzerland last year I've slowly been developing an interest... So much beauty here. I'm thinking about buying a proper camera, but in the meantime I have a Huawei P30 pro which does a decent job.

Have always liked this pic I got of Mount Rushmore:

I know one face is obscured, but I love the flags at the front.

That cow is coming out of my laptop screen.

Awesome pics.

Apologies in advance, brilliant photos preceding this post, not so much in this one.
Quite an interest in photography and have been fortunate to be able to do quite a bit of travel in the past 5 years. Have used pretty much point and click Canon Sx 710 and a Sx 730. Fantastic cameras, small, light, have a zoom, allow you to take shots in black and white and also has a special effects feature which gives you a lucky dip of about 6 shots. However, with covid derailing my travel plans, bye bye Panama Canal, have signed up for an online photography course and got my hands on an DSLR, so time to get a bit serious.
Side note, I got my first teaching job because I put on my resume that I could teach photography. I did a class in Yr 9 when at school, that was my experience. Was able to wing it, given a fistful of money to set up a lab and darkroom, happy days. Second aside, job was in a small mining town, 2 football teams. Evidence that I am the Bizarro Dodoro - President of Team A, was a big wig in the mine - 'Shane we want you to play for us, you've got a job, start you as a truck driver we'll work from there'. Good old Shane -' Don't worry about it, I'm planning I playing for you anyway'. Teacher wage at the time - $27 000; Bonehead Truck Driver - $83 000. Didn't even push him for a pair of shorts or socks.
Anyway, photo time - be blunt

Walking 6th Avenue, Manhatten, Sept 2019. My back wouldn't allow me to bend anymore to eliminate the traffic light support. Hoping to learn a trick or 2 to be able to delete it.

Lake Kawaguchiko, Japan, Jan 2016. Contrast between the white of the snow and the blue of the sky was amazing. The photos of course don't do it justice.

Mt Fuji from Lake Kawaguchiko, Jan 2016. The cloud was hovering and moving in, could see it from the bus on the way from Tokyo so was always going to be a race to get a shot before it moved in. So stupid Shane Sheridan walks 20 mins in the opposite direction of the lake when he gets off the bus. Had I gone the right way, would have had a clear view.

Effects setting, young bloke who boarded at my house for a year was playing College football as a punter, in position to hold for a field goal in this one. This is taken at the Atlanta Olympic Stadium, Georgia State v Arkansas State, Sept 2019.

Happiest place on earth, certainly not when it's f...ing crowded, although to be fair the California Adventure Park was nowhere near as bad as over the road Taken with my phone, happened to glance that way as I was dodging through some crowds and liked the way the rat was framed.
October 2019.
