Walking 6th Avenue, Manhatten, Sept 2019. My back wouldn't allow me to bend anymore to eliminate the traffic light support. Hoping to learn a trick or 2 to be able to delete it.

Got myself a 40mm macro lens to go with my Nikon D5100 and have had a short play around with it.

I've also tried my hand at water drop photography.
First tried to do everything manually and you'd time it right maybe 1 in 10 and if you were lucky it might be in focus.
Then I got myself a Pluto trigger and the water drop valve to got with it and holy crap what a difference it made.
Once you get it dialled in you get the splash in shot and in focus nearly every time. Then you just get to experiment with back drop colours, coloured gels on the flash, food dye in the water and even dropping milk in stead of water.
Highly addictive once you start taking even half decent shots

Hoping for a bit of advice for someone that's always enjoyed photography conceptually, but hoping to develop further in the hobby.

Am after a bit of advice on an entry level camera/ courses.
Also, down the track, I'd like to look at making photos available to sell (don't laugh). I'm not expecting a career out of it, more of a side hobby, even printing photos and taking them down to the local farmers market or to friends and family. Has anyone sold photos either via one of the large websites or any other methods? Also any tips for a hobby level camera?

At the moment I just use my mobile and have no experience in editing, I'll share some shots I've taken recently later.

Here are a few I have taken, unedited with the mobile, I reckon some could look pretty cool with some work. You can see some rookie errors like people, shadows, fingers, but that's all part of the learning process, Insert cliché beach shots:
