With the CBA almost certainly guaranteeing top 20 picks a min 3 year contract I don't see anything that would be enough to see WCE not selecting Reid at pick 1.
Would that be this year (as in would it apply to Reid)?

The circle jerk over Reid has slowed right down.

Unanimous acceptance now that Reid will be at WCE. Even the media has given up.

Yeah and they’ll lose interest to the point Luke Darcy forgets his name and calls him Harlem Reid even if he turns into the best player in the league.

The risk with a "homesick" player isn't necessarily that they will leave. It's that they won't enjoy the lifestyle or reach their potential.

If North kept JHF this year then it wouldn't have been pretty. I think that they still would have traded him if he had 2 years left.

I'm not saying that this is actually the case with Reid, but if it was a concern for the eagles then they would be weighing up an unhappy, homesick Reid vs a happy, local Curtin or even McKercher if their evaluation of him is that he will be more happy to move.

I don't know. I haven't spoken to them. I don't even know if Reid does or doesn't want to go.

I'm just saying that WC would be weighing up more than if they can get him to not demand a trade. They would be weighing up how much the away from factor will impact his personal development.

Superb attempt. Seems eminently credible.

Hawks wouldnt go in with many points

Pick 48 and 65 = 392 Points

Would likely be 46 and 59 = 489 Points at time of bid

Will then also be the chance to trade out 46 for say eagles 52 and 54 (which is what they'd be in this scenario at bid)

Which is an extra 135 points = 624

I wouldn't want to actually do the deal as a Hawks fan. Happy just to trade 28 for a few lower picks to cover McCabe and try to get some good players with 3 (duursma?) and F1.

But I still really respect the effort. Seems pretty fair all round.

Isn't a problem or discussion with any other eastern state player we recruit.

He's already toured WCE facilities, so let's knock all this fantasy on it's head.

Every non Essendon list manager would say no - imagine Dodoro with that many moving parts

When did he tour WCE facilities?
WA v Vic Country game at Perth. The VC team had use of the club’s facilities which are top shelf

Harley also spent time with his mate Noah Long who told him how great life was in Perth

I think that it would be a topic of discussion with every interstate recruit to every side. And they would tend to recruit the ones that they are comfortable with.

Big gap between them and O'Sullivan imo
Murphy performed better at the champs. I really think he'll be as good, will just take longer as he's not as physically developed.

Liar. Longy told him he hates it and they spent their time together looking at Webjet for flights out of there.

Longy was probably actually telling him about the Hip-E-Club.
