Yeah, we just traded Stocker, who was #782 on our draft board, for Carlton's 2019 1st, which will be #1 on our draft board. Looks like a massive win to me
Adelaide 10- 12 wins
Carlton 6 -8 wins
Best scenario for Crows 6 place upgrade on first pick
Worst case scenario 2 game upgrade on first pick
That’s very realistic so don’t get too cocky

Carlton 8 wins? Don't get too cocky you say, well look who's talking

6 wins carlton 12 wins Adelaide is very realistic so in this scenario you give up pick 19 for a 6 pick upgrade.
Both Carlton and Adelaide had an annus horribilus. I'd say we both improve by about 2 or 3 wins next year

That probably makes it around pick 4 for pick 13 and 19

You can’t see the risk of carlton having a better than expected season versus the risk of Adelaide having a worse than expected season?
The risk is all yours.
Carlton will be trading our first pick for an established player so all this business about a higher pick is irrelevant to us.

You can't see the risk of Carlton having another bad season versus the risk of Adelaide jumping back up the ladder?
The risk is all yours.

See what I did there? ;)

Carlton are banking on them having a much better season AND Adelaide having a worse season to make this a good/breakeven deal.

In any of the following scenarios, Adelaide come out well on top:
  1. Carlton perform the same and Adelaide perform the same
  2. Carlton perform the same and Adelaide perform better
  3. Carlton perform better and Adelaide perform better
  4. Carlton perform slightly better and Adelaide perform the same
  5. Carlton perform worse
To some Carlton supporters it's like those other scenarios don't exist at all

You lot are pretty sure of yourselves, don’t forget how 2018 turned out after the 2017 GF shellacking.
Enough talking s**t with you lot , we’ll revisit this discussion round 23 next year

The anxiousness is all yours....see you then

Does being a pick 5 automatically make you better than a pick 19? What a stupid assumption!
With that theory Kade Kolodjashnij at Pick 5 should be streets ahead than Cripps at pick 13 in the 2013 draft and masten at 3 should be better than Rioli at 12 in the 2007 draft.

2006
I can keep going but I can’t be bothered....the above are facts...keep arguing

Ask Essendon if they’d swap Parish pick 5 and Francis pick 6 for Charlie Curnow pick 12 in the 2015 draft

Adelaide 10- 12 wins
Carlton 6 -8 wins
Best scenario for Crows 6 place upgrade on first pick
Worst case scenario 2 game upgrade on first pick

Not an unfair deal
And yet here you are

There were players taken top 10 that this year were delists. Where a player was drafted matters squat once they are in the system.

Francis had some good games late when playing off half back. That's a position we have well and truly covered.

He'd need a very good year to be worth 19. He certainly isn't worth anything close to 19 currently.

They say a week is a long time in football. This is a defining season for Francis. Fair enough you are backing him for a huge year and if so his value will increase, but unless he does he's nowhere near worth pick 19.
Your full of BS. Whose been delisted from that draft
You might want to go check the highlight reel and statistics. Hes a gun intercepting mark. How many do we have?

Hard to see Carlton crawl out of the bottom-4 next year. Especially with Murphy, Simpson, Kreuz, Curnow, Thomas a year older. No Wright or Kerridge anymore either :yum:. Realistically a decline from these guys could counter improvement from youngsters. Likely they will be competitive for 2-2.5 quarters then fall in a heap as young teams do. 3-6 wins depending on injuries.

Crows adding in Smith, B.Crouch will be huge. A better year with injuries would be massive as well. The output from Jacobs is the main worry. Douglas, Betts, Mackay also a year older and may have a decline in output. Atleast we have players coming through to replace them in Milera & Gallucci. I would expect Crows to go top-6 next year. If things go well, top-4 should be expected.

Pick 16(19) + 14-18(before being pushed back by other picks) for Pick 1-4 is a huge win for the Crows. Odd's are that is what will happen. Carlton fans should be worried about this one.

Exciting for Crows fans at the possibility of going into 2019 draft with Pick 1,19 or close to it, then our 2nd.

Shane macadam is the only new mature player brought in to make your squad stronger and Smith and crouch come back in...not a big difference considering the possible decline in some older players.Youngsters like Galluci will make you better.
Adelaide’s biggest positive for improvement next year is the soft draw with double up games against Gold Coast and StKilda.

Oh dear.
Brodie Smith and Brad Crouch won’t have a big impact? Think you’ll be disappointed.
Any decline in older players will be offset dramatically by full seasons from Walker, Sloane, M.Crouch, Seedsman, Greenwood, Keath/Hartigan, Galluci, Milera, Lynch and Knight.

I have a feeling he thinks Tex is decline but he only 29, that’s still prime age for most footballers. Tex and Sloane spent half the season either missing games or playing injured, and both will be better next year. Smith and Brouch are two of our top 10 players and they played 2 games combined in 2018. And that’s before any potential improvement by Milera, Doedee, Gallucci etc.
Not hard to where our upside comes from.
A poor analysis, but I’ve come to expect that from carlton fans.

Next season
Jenkins will be 30
Gibbs 30
Sloane 29
Walker 29
Mackay 30
Betts 32
Otten 30
Jacobs 31
Douglas 32
You better strike or you’ll need us to finish last. You missed your chance and it’s downhill from here. Middle of the table finishes and honourable elimination final losses will be it for the next couple of years and then Father Time catches up and its back to the drawing board.

Lol quoting ages means nothing, Mackay and Otten aren’t best 22, and of the others only Betts, Jacobs and Douglas have shown to be slowing down. Jacobs and Betts don’t play high value positions, and Douglas is already on the fringe, with players long up to take their spots.

You’re reliant on at least 5 of those players in a big way Walker,Sloane,Jenkins,Gibbs,Betts and even Jacobs. These players won’t be easily replaced and replaced quickly at that. You can’t deny if you don’t strike by 2020/21 you’re cooked.

Why are you still here?
You are offering zero to the discussion just more of the same old, same old.

Sure, I expect us to do a mini rebuild in 2021/2022. But that won’t be next year, so I don’t understand your point and it’s not relevant to the thread.

Are you planning on hanging around the whole season, because I’m already bored of your posts.
