Melbourne are apparently massively keen on Brayshaw at 2, so no way they trade down from 2 to 6 just for Frost, who they could get with a much lower pick, or even in the PSD.

If you understood how the FA compensation system works, then it'd be fairly easy to "believe".
I reckon Melbourne could have done without the Watts and Scully PR (fallout).

To be fair most realistic fans would have expected Melbourne to get ONE of the PP applied (denied) or the compensation pick 3. They went with the latter. No dramas for me, Melbourne need some help.

I agree with what some are saying about chasing Melbourne's picks rather than St Kilda's pick 1. I'd offer 4,6,7 & Frost for pick 2 & 3 and just work backwards from there. Unlikely they give up both, but ask the questions. Even 4 & Frost for pick 3 is something I would consider. At pick 3 at least one of McCartin & Wright will be available. Wright makes a lot of sense for mine. Groom him as the 2nd ruck/forward, a position GWS don't really have covered. If the reports of them really wanting Petracca are correct, I'm actually not certain that 4,6,7 will be enough for St Kilda to give up pick one. If they could get their hands on 2 or 3 however, then St Kilda might deal
Agreed. (Though I think it should be 21 because that would be nice and symmetrical.) GWS shouldn't offer that much but we shouldn't give it up for any less. Petracca is the best fit for us, there's no real problem if we end up with him.
If they do the trade then that's because they really don't want to use all of 4, 6 and 7. They probably realise that another three talented kids is the last thing they need - they've already got 33 guys on their list who are younger than 22 next year (including Steele and Finlayson). How can they possibly get them all enough games?
If they do that deal then their trade period results would be:
IN: 1, 40, Griffen, Patfull
OUT: 4, 43, Boyd, Jaksch, O'Rourke, Whiley
So basically grabbing two experienced guys and improving their first- and third-round picks for the net price of a sooky number 1 draft pick and some guys who weren't getting games anyway. Doesn't actually look that bad to me.

Hawks had to trade out two promising key position players to get pick 1 off Fremantle all those years ago.

Plenty of the suggestions are massively over valuing pick 1
If the Saints can turn pick 1 into two top 5 or 6 picks they should do it, or even a Melbourne style swap for a gun ie Tyson and pick9 (Salem) compared to pick 2 (Kelly) would be a big result for them.

Petrecca, as hyped, would be a great fit for every team, but are you guys now more in the market for a KPF? With Stanley gone, who are your KPFs besides Riewoldt?
Lee and White. We definitely need a KPF but we are at the stage of our rebuild where we just pick best available because we need quality everywhere. I'd rank our needs like this

Thats signed Petrecca's fateI sincerely hope that GWS trade for pick 1 because that means it's likely they'll go for a tall (at least more likely than the Saints), leaving Melbourne to take Petrecca at 2
