I know all the talk is about Kruezer, Cotchin, Morton. But now with JK gone Carlton are in need of a CHF, could it be possible Carlton might ignore the above 3 and draft the best KPP available to replace Kennedy.

Precisely 0% chance of that happening.

I'd expect Hartlett to be trialled at CHF - if he can stay good he can be decent in the position, IMO. If not, Waite is capable of playing there although personally, prefer him on a flank or even pocket. Hartlett is more that crash and bash type, who'll command a presence.

Won't happen.

You should always draft best available with top picks.

I don't agree with that philosophy you draft the best player all the time, sometimes you have to draft to what the teams weakness is ? Eg Bulldogs, Richmond

Is a toss up between Kreuzer and Cotchin in my mind. You either take the 10+ year ruckman in Kreuzer, or a very possible A-grade midfielder in Cotchin. Very very hard to split, and have probably changed my mind several times who we should take at #1 since the R.22 game against Melbourne.

Kreuzer!!! I'm sorry but with a midfield already containing Judd, Stevo, Murph, Carrots and Gibbs.. And mature ruck stocks consisting of Ackland, Cloke and the kids Hammo and Aisake... It's a no brainer that we should take the ultimate in kreuz value... Even with A. O'hailpin and Hammo developing Kreuzer has a better motor that will see him become the next Cox and he's versatile, he may even become a gun forward...

Kreuzer for mine :thumbsu:

The first opinions I dismiss in these sorts of threads are those that say it is a no-brainer, or defnitely Cotch or definitely Kreuzer...they have obviously not seen either at their best :D

Its a no-brainer. Cotch is clearly number 1. :p

Of course Ablett and Chapman aren't that integral to Geelong's success

True - thought Ottens was pretty important too. I'd hope that if Kruz can force his way into the team early, that he'd play most of his time as a big marking target up forward anyway. If so, he acts as a reasonable 'replacement' for Josh in a way.:thumbsu:

Never said they weren't but I think a top ruckman is required to complement an improving midfield. Good onballers can shark the opposition rucks but its a lot easier if you are using your own set plays to clear the footy.

Note: Big Harrys work in the 1987 & 1995 flags should not be underestimated, our midfield carved up their opponents but he always gave them first use of the pill.

If that's the criteria then you really needn't bother with Kreuzer. I am 100 percent sure Hampson will be a better tap ruckman than Kreuzer. Better leap, bigger frame. Taps both hands. I am sure of it. So if that's the only reason you want Kreuzer then move along. Pick Cotch. If you want a ruckman who does plenty around the ground, then that's a different debate. Because I don't think Hampson will be that type of player.

But Aisake will!!
