I'm warming to the idea of Aaron Black - a versatile 193 cm forward/defender

.. he even has runs in the midfield and has senior experience in the WAFL.

Came #3rd overall for the vertical jump at DC

Also leaning towards Black. Although my opinion is based only on youtube and bigfooty. Also think Panos might slot well into our side.

I'm warming to Carlisle for CHF if he gets past Melbourne with our pick 11.

I expect Port to take Tapscott.

I don't know how athletic Carlisle is, but he's no manchild and really shot up in the last year.

Growth spurt helps draft chances

One fact not to be overlooked is his evolution from boy to man. "To grow 22 centimetres in the last 18 months was big," he said.

Before the growth spurt, Carlisle was more focused on carving out a cricket career and was part of the North West Wizards regional representative team in the under-18 Commonwealth Bank Cup.

Growth spurt helps draft chances

Standing at 197 centimetres and weighing in at 85 kilograms, it is only natural that he has taken to the key position roles like a duck to water.

Growth spurt helps draft chances

How much upside does Carlisle have if he was concentrating on cricket early last year?

Are you saying that you would not want Hurley?
Hurley could help me get out of paying for the taxi ride on the way home. :thumbsu:
With pick 12 I think you will take Panos. No chance of Butcher getting past pick 11.
Does Panos has the size, pace and talent to beat the AFL's best full backs?

I like Carlisle - but Gilly thinks he's a bit slow off the mark.

Reminds me a lot of Kurt Tippet :thumbsu:
Clark, Leuenberger, Sellar, Hampson, Tippett, Kreuzer and Watts were all converts from other sports...

Hurley and Butcher were name KPP at 17, yet Carlisle was playing cricket at 16 years of age and smaller. I wonder how much potential Carlisle has if he's learning to use that raw frame.

Carlisle's raw frame, mop of hair and freakishly long arms reminds of our former pick. :)

Walker is now a unit.

I can picture Melbourne picking Carlisle after they took Watts last year and took a bit of a punt on his upside over Hurley and Naitanui.

Watts and Carlisle could be their twin towers for the next ten years.

They have plenty of mids and the backline covered with Garland, Frawley, Martin, Warnock and Rivers, so they might pass on Talia and Lucas for a KPF.

We should get a good prospect no matter what.

Kane Lucas sounds like your typical Adelaide midfielder who can run all day.

What about Andrew Hooper at #43? Absolutely no one seems to rate him, yet he was joint winner of the Larke Medal this year and was top 10 in three of the Draft Camp disciplines.

He's also built like a (relatively short) brick sh!thouse and seems to go hard at it - he has a bit of mongrel.

I know people query his height, but I have two words to say to them: Brent Harvey.

Thoughts?
