But the utter hypocrisy of the same people not to use the same spreadsheets to fu** off the coach.
It’s in no way hypocrisy. On the cusp of becoming the longest serving coach without a finals win, first coach ever to go from 11-4 to missing finals. Consistently finding way to lose winnable games and costing us finals because of it.

if it wasn’t for the completely unjustified extension he’d be long gone.

Board wanting to move on SPP because some nuffies think he’s a bad look.

VS

Most port members wanting the board to do their job and sack a coach who has along record of failure, costing us finals and is hated by the clubs supporters and actively costing them members.

fairly different situations.
Board wants to get rid of SPP because THEY think he's a bad look.

Board doesn't want to get rid of Hinkley because THEY think he's a good look.

I see what you’re saying.

So the board are morons.

Not really.

the boards allegiance is to who placed them, and by them I mean a bunch of career driven people, on the board

their interests and our interests will not always be the same thing.

a moron would be someone who thinks that the afl controlling the boards of interstate teams isn’t a direct and intentional handicap to ensure the AFL is really just a rebranded VFL for the national market.

Pretty much another bigfooty rumor then :)

no. It’s come from trusted sources several times over a matter of months.

We just don’t know exact details of how much sway those opinions of certain members of the board regarding spp have at the club and how they influence decision makers at the club.

pretty patronising answer really to try and dismiss it. However the club has a recent history of leaking more than a sieve, when you combine the actual activities around the player and the leaks it stacks up. He was shopped around.

Not dismissing it at all, just wanting more substantiated info than bigfooty rumours prior to taking it as gospel.

Because they consider what happens off the field to be far more important than what happens on the field.

A good move to utilise SPP as an impact player

I feel he could be damaging on the half forward flank and resting pocket

Running less may improve his accuracy and his strength will make him hard to man up

We clearly have too many big bodied players but with Wines moving on next year and rocky and boak near the end, keeping SPP is a must
