the boards allegiance is to who placed them, and by them I mean a bunch of career driven people, on the board

their interests and our interests will not always be the same thing.

a moron would be someone who thinks that the afl controlling the boards of interstate teams isn’t a direct and intentional handicap to ensure the AFL is really just a rebranded VFL for the national market.

We just don’t know exact details of how much sway those opinions of certain members of the board regarding spp have at the club and how they influence decision makers at the club.

pretty patronising answer really to try and dismiss it. However the club has a recent history of leaking more than a sieve, when you combine the actual activities around the player and the leaks it stacks up. He was shopped around.
