Very happy with that. The only one i'm unsure of is the Brooks deal. But i'd take those trades in total anyday. Also means one less player we have to delist.

Brooks would have had to agree to the trade, he obviously did so i don't think we treated him badly.

Yes i cant really understand that. I'd rather have Picket for the next 5 years than Brooks for the next 10 at this stage of time. Maybe different in hindsight but i think as of today all clubs would pretty much agree.

Exactly right. Although it may be a case of that if he knew we were considering it he may have got the impression we didn't want him and said stuff it, it's not as if I'm gonna get a go round here. We just better do something with those picks, the love session surrounding Alan Stewart better come to fruition.

Well there is another Burgoyne available to pick up..............

Although haven't heard too much about him this year after getting into a bit of trouble with the law up here earlier this year.

He has been touted as the best of the 3 brothers............time will tell but how good would it be having 3 brothers in the one side who are all very capable footballers.

I dont think our local lawbreaker Burgoyne is a brother, but a cousin. Doesn't the youngest (juniorest??) Burger (mini-burger?) play for one of the Magpie teams?

Only 1 delisting required, unless any rookies are promoted. There's going to be a few happy players.
I reckon there were about 7 players who might have been looking over their shoulders.

From the sounds of it it sounds a little like the Gallagher/Nelson trade of 2001. Mind you i think both players are a little better than those two.

As much as we're supposed to lose from this trade, I don't reckon we do....we're probably a bit light on effective midfield (as opposed to forward) taggers.

Carr, Wilson and...well...Cochrane now.

koulagirl, if Wanganeen and/or Primus are eligible, they can be shifted to the veterans list, and yes, we technically wouldn't need to delist anyone.

I expect we still will though, if not to use four picks in the draft, to raise one or two of our rookies (McKenzie & Jackman) to the senior list.

Yes, but the veteran's list only affects the salary cap, not the number of players. There are 40 players, 38 and 2 veterans. The 38 has been reduced by Lockwood retiring: French, M.Stevens and Brooks going and Wanganeen to the veterans' list to replace Mead. Pickett and Cochrane have been added. The list is currently 2 veterans and 35 players, it has to be 2 and 34 by november 24. So there is still one to go.

And I think your boy is safe. I would certainly expect ****y to go before him.
