I have literally no idea who Ryan Willits is.

It's amazing how worked up some posters get when actual recruiters get it wrong(in hindsight) but the draft is an opinion based lottery. I wonder who won the draft from 2004 according to draft night and who won it 10 years on?

To be fair to Lids, he has had to play at Richmond, shoring up a very weak defence under some pretty ordinary coaches.

He would have been a superstar at the Hawks under Clarko. Very, very good player.

Brett Deledio is a very good footballer as well who's been a consistent player in his career, but Lewis has now surpassed him and even taken his game to another level.

As I recall, Clarko had just cleaned house and was specifically after two talls. Just happened there were a couple of reasonable prospects that would go early in the draft.

Normal circumstance would dictate that you take the best player - usually a mid-type. And we would have but for Clarko's intervention.

Had Clarko come along the following year and adopted the same logic, we may have taken Josh Kennedy and still ended up with Dowler. The year after that was flush with talls but few have made it.

We got lucky with the 2004 draft. And that luck has delivered 3 premierships.
