Just heard Josh Mahoney on trade radio saying that pick 2 was "highly likely" (thanks Damian Barrett) to be traded. Given that the Crows want to get back into the first round of the draft, what would we have to give up to get that?

What are people's thoughts on trading Henderson, Douglas, Kerridge and Mackay (or combination of) back to Vic for pick 2? IMO, I think only Douglas is a best 22 player and I'd rather an 18 year old Scharenberg/Aish/Matt Crouch than a 26 year old Douglas and Henderson. We also need one more gun midfielder to push for a flag and pick 2 would deliver us this.

We don't need Henderson & Mackay had his chance, we don't want him either.

Douglas is a good player don't get me wrong but is too old for what we want (8-10 yr mid)

Kerridge isnt in the league of being worth #2.

Think our clubs have had discussions & all the players we wanted (Dangerfield, Sloane, Crouch) are off limits and that's fair enough but you won't get #2 off us for nothing

I don't think they would improve our side enough to be worth pick 2. Our midfield needs monumental improvement to move forward.

Yeah, that's why I suggested trading all 4 of them for pick 2. None of them are worthy of pick 2 by themselves.

It's a ridiuclous suggestion though. Why would Melbourne give up 4 list spots for 3 average players and 1 ok player while possibly giving away a draft pick that has landed the liked of Naitanui, Judd etc

For pick 2 you're talking about 1 close to elite player or 1 good player plus a pick

Savage and our first rounder wouldn't do it. Suckling and our first rounder wouldn't either. They are all I would offer

Yeah, that's why I suggested trading all 4 of them for pick 2. None of them are worthy of pick 2 by themselves.

Here's the thing though, we need to move upward out of the mess we're in, marginally improving our midfield with a bunch of average players is not the way to go; we need to add quality. I doubt we will trade pick 2 for anything less than a B+ midfielder.

Think about what Mahoney has said: We have a shortlist of about four to five midfielders worthy of pick 2, we're looking for at a minimum of 30 games experience and would not go after players over the age of 24-25, we are highly likely to trade pick 2. All of that tells me that we are already in talks with a few clubs about the players on that short list and we have garnered some serious interest in the pick, the players we're interested would be between 20-24 years old.

No chance whatsoever of Rocky leaving. He's contracted, he's our best midfielder, he loves the club and is a future captain.
