No chance whatsoever of Rocky leaving. He's contracted, he's our best midfielder, he loves the club and is a future captain.

Fair enough, just saying that's the kind of player we need to be going after.

I'll give you the first one but does a certain Garry Ablett Jnr ring a bell for the next 3?

Money

He'd be on a fair bit of money at the moment. A club would need to offer him a fortune for him to even consider a move

A sound plan from the Dees. Obviously looking to replace the absence of Moloney & Mclean.

This would tempt a lot of clubs but would be pricey. Dees would be looking for two mid-aged onballers.
Lions' Rockliff and Redden for example. But I doubt they let that happen.

Will be interesting to see if a trade occurs.

Best scenario i can see is a club aiming at pick 1 from the Giants.
Club sends established midfielder or two with first rd pick for #2.
Swap a second established mid and pick 2 for Adams & pick 1.

If i throw the tigers into that example, they throw Martin & their first rd pick at the Dees for #2.
Then swap pick 2 and Deledio for Adams and Pick 1 and land Boyd.
Big gamble on two stars (and im not sure Martin can be traded now? has he signed the contract?) but you land a massive win with a forward and a future onfield leader (for any team, Tigers only an example here)

Tigers sign Martin just to get rid of him a few weeks later? If that deal was done with Brisbane the Gabba would be burned to the ground. I feel like we're already in talks with some clubs about potential trades, saying we're 'highly likely' to trade it implies some kind of discussions or potential trades. I have heard a rumour that Jade Rawlings been up in Brisbane though.

Shaw, Blair, Goldsack and 2nd rounder? Melbourne get an instant injection of 3 hard experienced competitiors to turn around their insipidness.

The Adelaide combination is much better of Douglas, Kerridge and Mackay. You didn't offer a true midfielder in any of that lot really, Blair would be a nice player for work rate, Shaw would be handy but he's only got 4 good years left if we are lucky and Goldsack wouldn't improve us much.

If there every was a pick 2 going for a combo deal it would be this one. Yes we miss out on a potential gun but 3 starting midfielders would get me interested somewhat. Rely on development of Viney, Toumpas and Trengove to hopefully get the elite player out of one of those 3. Either way Roos showed in 2005 and even Sydney in 2012 showed midfield depth is more important than a true star. Even Hawthorn this year had Mitchell shut down on grand final day and Hodge at half back.

Either way my primary targets for pick 2 remain:
Scott Selwood, Gaff, Shuey, Rockliff, D. Swallow, Sloane. I could entertain a Luke Parker and Jed Lamb combination from Sydney. By the way I'm not picking on interstate teams but it's a potential leverage that makes moving clubs more acceptable than a cross town rival.

Remember this is pick 2 people! Freo once traded pick 1 for McPharlin and Croad, AA key defenders x 2 and still looked stupid.

wines would be on ports untouchables list. they lost their minds when they found out he would be available in the draft and he had an incredible year. the crazy thing is he didnt do any of it from a back flank being eased into it position but straight in the guts fire and brimstone day one. rocked it solid in big games too.

as much as i would love pick 2 the only players that would get it done from port are too valuable , from an on-field standpoint and off-field standpoint. also i dont rate the top 2 or 3 players in the draft as high as the top 2 or 3 from many other drafts. i reckon its more comparable to the 3-6 range of a good draft.
