Need to give up quality to get quality. Would have to offer up someone like Birchall before Melbourne begin to consider negotiating.

This seems far more likely than anything else. Player requesting a trade and us being on the front foot. Most clubs are really fickle when it comes to the trade table. Can't remember a time a club was seriously bold in their trading without a player prompting that they wanted out.

I wouldn't trade Shuey AND pick 6, it would either be Shuey or nothing, we've been railed enough times in recent trade weeks

Demons finished 17th and its only a matter of time before GWS move further away from them.

Another 18 YO kid is 100% useless to them. Roos has 2 years to rebuild this list before he retires on his huge bonus courtesy of the MFC & AFL. He has 2 years left to turn the list around or they will have no supporters left.

They must trade or Roos could well go down the same path as Neeld.

Pick 2 will be a young (albeit a very good) midfield with plenty of potential.

So Pick 2 for Redden or Rockliff rumours need to stop right there. Why would we trade a Redden or Rockliff, 22 and 23 years of age (still young and a long career ahead of them) for a young midfielder who isn't actually proven. Plenty of Top 2 picks have turned out to be no-where near as good as Redden or Rockliff in the past. Our midfield is fine. If pick 2 was going to be a Tom Boyd-like player, then this rumoured offer would be viewed more seriously. Pick 2 is very different from Pick 1 in this draft. We need a young KPF.

And If Roos is so keen to coach Redden or Rockliff, he blew his chance already.

You think it's fair because you win that trade! It's not a good deal for us. We need pure contested ball winning mids, not a petulant child that cracks the shits with his team mates! We need leaders & Shaw certainly doesn't fit the mould of either a midfielder or leader.
