Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
this is just wishful thinking from Melbourne , pick 2 seems its pretty clear cut in james aish , Melbourne would expect someone like shuey, Sloane , Stephan hille as examples don't see why a club would trade in a young 18 year with talent with no guarantees he will even get close to what they are going to have to give away ? at least with boyd he is potentially filling a clubs needs , everyone knows Melbourne is not going to be a quick fix they should back there young talent and maybe try pick up a couple more experienced players on the cheap to help
Pick 2 will be a young (albeit a very good) midfield with plenty of potential.
So Pick 2 for Redden or Rockliff rumours need to stop right there. Why would we trade a Redden or Rockliff, 22 and 23 years of age (still young and a long career ahead of them) for a young midfielder who isn't actually proven. Plenty of Top 2 picks have turned out to be no-where near as good as Redden or Rockliff in the past. Our midfield is fine. If pick 2 was going to be a Tom Boyd-like player, then this rumoured offer would be viewed more seriously. Pick 2 is very different from Pick 1 in this draft. We need a young KPF.
And If Roos is so keen to coach Redden or Rockliff, he blew his chance already.

You won't get an elite 21~24 year old mid unless a mid of that calibre wants to come home to Victoria, you'll have to take unders IMO, I wouldn't rule out my scenario, we might even throw in pick 30 to sweeten the deal.I mean get Cross instead of trading for Shaw, I'd be happy to trade 2 for the right player.
Not likely at all given what Mahoney and Roos have said
And I suppose Paul Roos really liked what he saw at MFC? If we had as much as Melbourne (well really the AFL actually) to offer, I doubt he'd be coaching at the Demons in 2014...You made valid points until this dribble came out of your mouth!
Blew his chance? He didn't want to coach you guys otherwise he would be. Angus Johnson & his merry men were the only ones who blew their chance of anything when they went off half cocked!
Suckling and our two first rounders for pick 2 and a swap of second rounds?
Dunno if that would go through. Personally would rather keep him and don't think it will happen but food for thought.
Could even give you back CheneyMaybe Sewell wants to finish up on a nice deserved pay packet.

All depends on how your recruiters rate the draft, they may feel its fairly even after pick 1, if they do a top 10 pick and a quality player might seal the deal, and I don't buy the Mahoney line they only want a mid, fact is they need help all over the park.We will end up taking pick 2 into the draft...not going to get shafted for it.
Aish's at 2 in his phantom draft.Fwiw the collingwood board draft guru (knightmare) has Aish at 3.
Nah, our back and forward lines are pretty good really. All depends on how your recruiters rate the draft, they may feel its fairly even after pick 1, if they do a top 10 pick and a quality player might seal the deal, and I don't buy the Mahoney line they only want a mid, fact is they need help all over the park.

and DarlingNo its Shuey + Gaff + Pick 6 for pick 2.
is true, we just have to hope their is a decent player that wants out, no club will voluntarily make that deal unless their hand is forcedI don't get the value pick 2 holds in this draft.
Melb want a quality midfielder, why would you give up an established quality midfielder for a spec pick on an 18yr ld midfielder you hope might come good. Doesn't add or change your squad in any way.
Pick 1 on the other hand makes sense, sure trade an established midfielder in the hope of securing a key position player, that alters your structure at least
What would people think about Hawthorn's second round pick, Jonathon Simpkin, Matt Spangher, Kyle Cheney and a packet of salt and vinegar chips for pick 2?
Need to give up quality to get quality. Would have to offer up someone like Birchall before Melbourne begin to consider negotiating.
I agree with this, Melbourne are probably sounding out if there are any mids that are homesick and may want to return to Vic with a few years experience.is true, we just have to hope their is a decent player that wants out, no club will voluntarily make that deal unless their hand is forced
I wouldn't trade Shuey AND pick 6, it would either be Shuey or nothing, we've been railed enough times in recent trade weeks
Nope.
