The only way I can see it happening is if either we pay overs as in our first and second rounders (or substitute the second rounder for our Sylvia compo) OR if Shiel has been so adamant with GWS that either they trade him or he walks as soon as his contract is over and GWS decide they are getting the best possible offer they will get now and cut their losses.

Yeah that might be it but you'd think GWS would back themselves in on being able to change his mind over the next two seasons (they should start to see a light at the end of the tunnel around then), if he gets a full preseason done (hasn't had one yet) next year will be his breakout. Would be an awesome coup if you got him.

i wouldn't say its all potential, he's shown quite a lot at AFL level in a terrible team with limited preseasons. I'd even be happy to throw in steak knives to get him

But if you look through the list of picks 2 it's a decent amount of potential. Thats why I had hoped we'd get a B+ type player in the right age with a bit extra thrown on top. Talks of a true A grader are hard to imagine.

Pick 2 to Collingwood for picks 10 and 11.
Pick 11 to Essendon for David Myers and keep pick 10 for the draft.

Obviously relies on Heath Shaw going to GWS for Adams without a first round pick involved from Collingwood or Adams not going to the pies.

Yeah but it didn't make sense for us to then. We needed fresh young talent and potential leaders of the future. Now we've got some young talent but need an instant injection of ready to go midfielders otherwise we just wont have the strength and run to compete in games.

Richmond didn't accept 6 and 13 for pick 3 either. That's why I think 10 and 11 for pick 2 is a pretty reasonable deal.

considering pick 2 is really pick 4 given Hogan and Martin were likely to go 1 and 2, certainly Hogan would have gone aT 1 anyway.
