This kid is coming from a mile back having been basically playing country juniors until joining the Panthers program in his draft year.

Bit of a stretch to call the SFL a country league, Aldinga is the closest it goes to leaving the southern suburbs.

Nice debut.

Geez he looked pretty big, was lined up on the wing at one stage on Duursma and seemed to tower over him. Not sure if it was just the angle on the broadcast but will add a real nice counterpoint in our current midfield.
He could be a mid, but I do wonder if he ends up as the Lynch replacement.

He is going to build into a nice size, look at his body change since being drafted.

I think a Lynch replacement is probably apt. Its so hard to find genuine specialist half forward flankers. Sure you can rotate mids through there, but I think its highly valuable to have a specialist there as well. I reckon he becomes this.

The game is won and lost in the engine room. We should be first and foremost trying to develop him as a mid. Looks the prototypical height for the modern midfielder. Add in a supposed elite aerial game and forward craft and you could be looking along the lines of a Nat Fyfe type player. (Noting it’s unlikely he’ll get to those levels).

Yup, I agree. If Cook shows he's capable on the inside, it's definitely the move for us to be making. After all, an inside midfield switch could be the difference between Cook potentially having a hall of fame calibre career instead of a very good one (as an example, I am not anointing Cook as someone at that level just yet).

Certainly not something to sleep on at this point.

Good debut.. it's it just me or he doesn't seem to have any muscle mass ... looks like he's gained alot of weight though
He's still a baby really. Give him time though. By end of next preseason we will start to see some muscle development. By the start of 2023, we will see his frame fill out. By 2024, this kid is going to be an elite beast.
