Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

such a fascination for height, height = success as a KPD? If we find anyone who will be better than Moore against the big fwds like buddy, and J Brown we'll be very lucky, Moore is our best KPD now and will contunue getting better, so what if hes 190cm? plenty of teams have played under sized KPD with success C Bolton at sydney, leo barry. You gotta have agility, speed and strength moreso than height, no 195cm KPD will be playing buddy better than what Moore would!

Put my thoughts into words.

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

Moore comes in at 189cm IIRC hardly what you would call a true KP height. By getting Post it should enable us to use Moore on the midsized forwards who we don't really have cover for.

spoke to jayden today and he says they will be trying him up forward...

he is a big kid and a body thats just about ready for AFL...

1 or 2 good pre seasons and he will be a gun....

Thats good to hear i would like him to be a forward he already have Thursfield, McGuane and Moore in the backline so if we can get Post and Riewoldt with Morton being the other forward target we are looking good at the moment with our depth. Vickory tapping it down to Foley, Cotchin and Lids god im feeling good about the next 5-10 years:thumbsu::thumbsu:
**how did you get to speak to him?**

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

He won his B&F by over 50 votes.

Here's the video the jets made to celebrate!

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=UIdiTYKBt9c

He takes some great marks and kicks a few good goals as well in this vid

Oh yeah this guy can play forward!

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

He should be a handy addition to our already strong, young backline.

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

Great pace for a tall guy. Plays a bit like Ryan Griffen. Kicks well on both feet. Could clean up his kicking a bit as the ball almost looks horizontal when it hits his foot lol

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

He certainly has great acceleration for a big fellow, and uses it to advantage. Hopefully he can do that at AFL level.

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

Had a look at the highlights of this kid and is an absolute markoligist..One touch overhead grabs a hallmark of his game, reads the play exceptionally well and loves to have a dash with the pilll also...I really like his prospects and hope that he can be developed into a CHF:thumbsu:

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

Looks very good in that video. He grew on me hugely as it went on. Great hands, takes them on, bit of pace and a reasonable kick.

I taught him to drive and stayed in touch with him.
I knew he would be drafted but was wrapped when it was to tigers.
He will be great in a year or two....

Given his size, what are the things that will mean he will take a year or two to come good?

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

Post was a very good pick up. Very talented both ends of the ground. He reckons they'll trial him up forward next year, oh and most importantly is RAPT to be a Tiger.

he should play most of next year up forward then but still play a few games down back so he doesnt lose touch. and maybe give him a few runs on the wing.

Very versatile player. The club can't speak highly enough of him and his attitude towards becoming a better player.

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

could post and vickery start rnd 1???
Vickery could. Not sure about Post. Not a stick by any means but I can't see him getting in front of Hughes, McGuane, Riewoldt, Thursfield in the space of a pre-season.

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

DOB: 5/12/89 - 194cm, 88kg
“Jayden won our best and fairest and tested really well at the state screening. He ran 3 seconds for the 20m and ran a good beep test. He was by far our best player for the year and I would say that among the taller players in the TAC Cup he was the most consistent. He led the league in contested and uncontested marks, he’s got a great work ethic and good pace for a player that size. Good skills both left and right and he’s just an all-round good kid. In our last game of the year in the final ha had 35 possessions and took 18 marks – it was by far the best game I’ve seen anyone play this year in the TAC Cup. He’s just an all-round good kid.” – Western Jets coach Steven Kretiuk

Dont doubt this kid he looks like a gem:thumbsu:;)

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

Watching the videos there are three things I really like.

1. Yes his left foot isnt great at the moment, but Wilbur isnt afraid to use it and it's only going to get better with that attitude.

2. Strong hands.

3. Already has the core strength to break tackles, and to lay some solid tackles on the opponents.

Happy with the drafting decision.

Re: Pick 26 - Jaydyn Post

How about the architectural option - Post Modern?

Would have loved him at the Dogs. Can't believe we didn't take him at 32, as he was still available.
