Why does everyone think Burton will slide to Pick 27? Adelaide I reckon have already got him at Pick 9.

Draft expert Brett Anderson's mock draft a couple of days ago had him getting awfully close to our first pick (taken by GC two picks before us). There has also been some media reporting in recent days indicating that he hasn't recovered as well from his serious leg injury as some would have liked. Top 10 on talent but a few getting nervous. Jake Stringer anyone?

In a weak draft I think so Dave. With all the young talent we've stock piled in recent draft and trade periods I think we could take a punt on a guy who would be top 10 on talent if not for the injury concerns.

Maybe once peter Daicos' (remember that wearer of 35?) son comes along we may see a change in policy and it becomes his.
Not fussed, am happy for a first drafted number tradition, or not.
Maybe 42 can be revived as well.

The number 42 should come back, imo, it's time the younger generations get to see this number and find out about the great man that wore it. I reckon young Maynard would be a great fit from what I've seen early days. Has a bit of enforcer about him. Adams and Grundy would also do it proud.

I agree. Might be a bit too much pressure but would love Adam Treloar in #42. Would be nice symmetry considering AT is from Noble Park just like "Pants".

Doubt it. Only desired destinations I could think of would be an Adelaide based club, which Adelaide has pick 9, or Essendon who his family apparently support, but they have multiple high picks too.

The medicals done by the clubs were pretty substantial from what I've heard, report in the HS had him describing it as pretty full on. I think after such a horrific break the kid will just be happy to get drafted.
