We get a has-been hack and miss out on two good mids.

We can't whinge to the AFL because having you promise not to take a player with a particular pick is draft tampering and would not be looked on kindly.

Guys, ITS CALLED A VEALE DEAL - we give Richmond pick 3 (for basically nothing), they agree to pass on him in the PSD, we dont deal with West Coast, Judd goes into the PSD and we effectively get him for pick 3 and keep Kennedy, pick 20 etc..

Fanatic, nice thought but it wont happen. Carlton dont want to bend West Coast over - a deal will be done

They had their lawyers on it for some time.

They have tightened up the rules and any hint of this and they would come down on us like a ton of bricks........especially given our recent history.

Im completely with you and as much as I would go for it it wont happen. First of all Carlton wont want to screw WCE over, that sort of thing can come back and bite you on the ass and truth be told I think they deserve fair compensation, just not pick 1 or fev.

Second of all, (Im not sure about this) but it could be draft tampering, the AFL learnt their lesson from the Veale deal and I dont think they will let it happen again.

Last, how do we seriously know that the Tigers wont **** us over? Can easily happen.

Spot on. The AFL would likely step in and ban both Carlton & Richmond from the PSD and most likely fine them as well for draft tampering.

Hawthorn & Western Bulldogs were VERY, VERY lucky to get away scot free with the Veale Deal.
