Pick 30

Can't you just Reset the Old One?

This draft is more so players that will most likely be available at our pick rather than players that could be available at pick 20.

Eg. Guys like Bastinac and Melksham simply won't be available. Also taken Luke Ball out to make it more best available draftee to get a new result.

I would like Panos at 30 but everyone knows that's not gonna happen. I wouldn't mind if we either got Thomas or Carey :D

Panos is a possibility. He could very well drop. His draft range is wide open.
Carey I think could be available at 62.
Thomas is top 30 quality prospect, just not enough clubs have been exposed to him to know what they are in for because he hasn't played all that much senior footy.

Could very well be: Thomas (30), Carey (62), Beams (78).

Would have thought we would get 1/3 of our picks would be a key position prospect but if we can get some quality sliders I certainly would not be opposed.

If Carey slids to 62 I'll be very happy. He looks like a solid player nothing spectacular but I think he could be a consistent contributor week in week out :D I was hoping we would get Panos with pick 14 before we got Jolly so I'd be really surprised if he went to 30. The downside to him reading from other people is he's to similar to Jack Anthony but I can't see that being a negative. He's a straight kick at goal and he goes for his marks in packs and can get it to ground for our crumbers.I've heard heaps of good things on Thomas it just sounds too good to be true.If he's so good why wouldn't a club pick him up before our 30?And finally on Beams Junior I think we should definitely take him if he's still there. I can't see any negatives apart from maybe Dayne might get to comfortable with his brother there ala the clokes and shaws. Can't wait until the draft sounds like we could still get something decent :D

I was initially pretty high on him myself at pick 14. Panos is sort of in the Matthew Lloyd mold in a sense. Also Fitzpatrick and Troy Taylor were on my interested list. Both Panos and Fitzpatrick look like real sliders, Panos is valued differently at different clubs, and I can see a possibility of one of Fitzpatrick or Panos slipping which is a possible alternative which the club will look at with pick 30.

Josh Thomas just appeals to me more now because I feel that he can be a really nice pick a bit like Dayne Beams this year.

For me Troy Taylor/ Luke Ball is my dream pick at 30.

In the absense of that I'd go for either Jesse Critchon if still available or Josh Thomas. Critchon is more an outside player, reminds me of Dale Thomas is a way. Critchon is speedy, has a great work rate, will always give 2nd, 3rd and 4th efforts and disposes of the ball nicely. (Critchon is most likely a 24-30 range guy) If he falls I would be equally keen on him as Thomas.

Critchon looks good but he's very skinny :( I've just got a feeling we will go for a inside midfielder or if someone rated highly somehow slips down. You seem to know alot about the young kids. Thomas is starting to allready get me excited to watch him next year and we haven't even been guaranteed of drafting him yet. I felt the same way last year about Beams. I remember listening to the draft and counting down the draft picks hoping he wouldn't get picked. Looks like it will be the same this year. Hopefully the other clubs forget someone maybe someone like gysberts apparently he's a pies supporter :D

if taylor slides to 30 i will do a happy dance. this kid could have the MOST upside of any of the 2009 draftees. he is raw, but a natural footballer. after him i would like:

panos
harewood
thomas
carey

i would love it if temel is availiable at 62 and if we picked up beams jnr with 78 :D:D:D

Just another name to add is Mitch Duncan.
There is a chance he could drop in draft calculations.
Quality player who I simply can't associate with a team at a pick before us.
Quality half forward flanker, which explains why I can't see a home for him.
No picks in the 20s would be all that interested. Perhaps West Coast at 22/23, but with likely Lucas at 7, can't see them drafting Duncan. Also thought he could go 28 to Geelong, but I think Geelong will get Jasper McMillan-Pittard at 28 which makes me think that Mitch Duncan is a good chance to drop to us.

Top 25 quality talent. Considered a potential 1st rounder who will most likely go 2nd.

*Not glorified highlights reels, just all the game footage of him during a game*

I'm starting to come to a different thinking. At pick 30 I see us picking up a slider. I did a pretty extensive annalysis on all the possible top 30 combinations and I see one of: Jack Fitzpatrick, Matthew Panos or Troy Taylor slipping to us at pick 30, leaving Josh Thomas to drop to 39.
It will most likely depend on richmond at 19 and fremantle at 20. I'm thinking that Panos at 19 would fill Richmond's key forward needs and at 20 Fitzpatrick would make sense considering Fremantle only have one other senior listed ruckman not going by the name of Aaron Sandilands. I see Fitzpatrick for them being a guy who will take 3-4 years to fill out, which means that he would be introduced to the side at the right time for when Sandilands (currently 28 YO) is nearing the end. So Taylor is very much a possibility and at 30 and infact my prefered pick, I very much see it as a strong possibility now.

Harwood I rate very highly and I think he will become a great player, just at pick 30 I see us having better options.

As for Carey I see him being available at 62.

Also Claye Beams I think could very well be a rookie draft pick, so I don't even think we would have to spend 78 on him.

Right now I'm of the thinking that:
Pick 30: Troy Taylor/ Jack Fitzpatrick/ Matthew Panos.
Pick 62: Andrew Hooper/ Ryan Harwood/ Alex Carey or similiar type inside mid, hopefully it will be another sleeper.
Pick 78: Mitch Thorp/ Andrew Welsh.

In the rookie draft I'm liking: Shane Page and Claye Beams.

I would love any of though 3 at pick 30, Would like Taylor and Fitzpatrick over Panos
